GMs, take this as you will. I'll wrap his game up and pack it in the graveyard. If/when he returns we can pull it out of retirement and start it up again.

Damn. But it's understandable. I hope he'll be back some time in the future too because I enjoyed his game a lot and will miss his character.

If he has a new relationship, he's effectively invoked "The Excuse." No more can be said.

In college, the absolute "Get out of Jail Free" card for any gaming event was having a date. You could call the GM an hour before the game started and say you weren't going to make it, and if you invoked The Excuse, he couldn't be mad. You could even be the GM and cancel the game with no notice. If it was for a date, then all was forgiven.

She might game, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't want his time for other things too. I'll grant him The Excuse, at least partially on this one.
