Book 2 - Act 6: Southern Narlmarches

Enter the Stolen Lands, a wilderness claimed by nobles, bandits, and beasts alike. Into this territory the fractious country of Brevoy sends its emissaries, tasking them with subduing the lawless folk and deadly creatures that have made it a realm of savagery and shame. Beyond the last rugged frontier stretches the home of voracious monsters, capricious fey, wily natives, and bandits who bow to the rule of a merciless lord none dare defy. Can the our heroes survive the Stolen Lands, bring their dangers to heel, and lay the foundations of a new kingdom? Or will they just be one more fateful band, lost forever to the ravenous wilds?

"That's two! Two more to go!" shouts Garuk as he swings around to the other Ettercap. "C'mere, ugly!"
Move to Ettercap 2 and attack (Bane + Furious Focus PA).

Round 2: Ettercaps and Caveweavers

Post by Vardaen » Fri Dec 15, 2017 8:23 pm

Garuk leaps across the chamber and shatters the skull of the Ettercap with his massive magical weapon. It ends the lift of the thing. With only a lone caveweaver in the northern cave you quickly put and end to it, and remove the threat.

The battle is over, your enemies lay dead at your feet.

"Well done all," Cal says once the last spider is dead. "Well done. This is one more peril that won't threaten the people of Caledonia."

He checks to make sure everyone is okay, then adds, "now let's make a quick pass for anything of value, then return to Stagfall."

Round 2: Ettercaps and Caveweavers

Post by Vardaen » Fri Dec 15, 2017 9:46 pm

The enemies defeated, the company begins a search of the chamber. The western most chamber it turns out had more than just a caveweaver. Once the fires die down you notice the charred husk of some poor traveler that was cocooned there among the caveweaver's nest. An inspection of the body suggests he was dead before Calanthir torched the chamber. His leather armor is ruined, and his belt pouch is in ashes, his coins spilled out on the ground. What also remains is a set of gloves that hardly seem touched by the fire.

"Alright. With this danger cleared, we should return to Stagfall. If we are gone too long, the people might start to worry again."

Ylyndar casually stores his bow and waits for the group to finish up.

"I think we've earned a rest in our own beds for once." Garuk cleans his blade and then takes a look at the magic gloves before they leave for home.

Garuk spends a bit of time focused on the gloves, he turns them over in his hands and the power within them comes to light. The power in the gloves gives the wearer a strong grip, be it on stone or in the water.

All Hail the Protectors of Stagfall!

Post by Vardaen » Tue Dec 19, 2017 5:20 pm

You head out into the softer area beyond the hill and Ylyndar starts the work of digging a grave. It takes an while, several hours in fact to get one deep enough, and since shovels are hard to come by, its back breaking work. By evening you have the body in the grave, and the dirt is being put back over it. You have a small camp set up and a fire. Garuk speaks a few words over the grave, and you retire to camp for the night. You are able to enjoy a bit of peace, knowing no other dangers linger in this area so close to the Ettercap and Owlbear's lair. By morning you are rested and healed, and turn about and ride back for Stagfall.

It takes two days to get back to Stagfall. You see the town is working on repairs, slowly but surely the start of the repairs has begun. As you ride into town with the great head of the Owlbear for all to see a great cheer goes up among the people! "All Hail the Protectors of Stagfall! All Hail the Slayers of the Beast!"

Spirits are high, and the outlook seems bright!
