Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
Dobomar stands up straight as the vision fades from the surface of the water. He feels a renewed sense of purpose. Yes, these days may be filled with darkness, but there was hope. No longer would he think of leaving his companions. He knew that somehow they would play a part in the greater war for Middle-earth. What that part would be, he did not know, but there was the promise of success, and for now, that was enough.
"Thank you my Lady." He looked at Galadriel. "I know that what I have seen is not necessarily what the future may hold, but having seen it, having even a glimpse of what is possible, reassures me that what we do is not in vain."

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
The Lady smiles at Dobomar, "The future is not written, not unless those who can write it turn away and abandon hope. It was once said to me 'Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens', and ever shall I remember that in these dark times."
She looks to Hurin, "Now then, shall you gaze? Or have you already see enough Man from Gondor?"

"Can a man truly know too much?" Húrin notes, his almost arrogant tone offsetting the quasi-wisdom of his words as he steps up, only a lingering look at the lady showing his discomfort,"What have the magics of the Elder races to show me?"

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
"What do you wish to see? You came seeking Boromir your Captain, do you wish to see him now? Look."
Hurin gazes into the mirror and the darkness swirls and remains dark. The water itself seems to bubble and swirl but Hurin realizes that's just the image he's seeing, which is a view from under fast moving water. Then his sight breaks the surface and he crashes on the bank of a wide river. A man rolls over and its Boromor of Gondor, pierced by many arrows. The darkness returns to the Mirror.
Then light, two pale orbs of light gaze down at the surface, as if looking at Boromir as he opens his eyes, the face is a twisted sunken face, a hobbit almost but pale and cold like a frog. It waves at Boromir to follow him, and he does.
Again the images fade, and return, scenes of trees, of rocks, of river, of stone ruins, of men and of a white city of seven levels and great white towers. Boromir returns home to Minas Tirith to trumpets and a smiling face of his father.
Then the water turns dark once more and remains so.

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
Licking his lips, Húrin eyes the mirror at first with dread, but as it progresses with more and more hope.
"This mirror... it shows what is, or what shall be? Has Captain Boromir truly returned to the arms of his people, to lead our people out of the darkness?"

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
"It shows many things, and its up to those that view it to make sense of it. Perhaps what you see is happening, or has happened, or could happen. It depends on the acts that those take who view it." Galadriel is suitably cryptic for a Noldor of her age and power.
"You have all gazed into the mirror. I believe tomorrow your stay with us has ended. Your companions are eager to travel on. Will you go with them? Or will you turn aside and take another road? Go now and sort your paths out." She escorts you to the edge of the glade and an elf comes to take you back to the others.

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
Húrin considers the She-Elfs words, realising he'd already decided. He would journey with this company on their path, and see what would unfold... possibly gaining vengeance for the blood shed of his brother and men.
As he finds the company, he eyes them for a small moment before speaking.
"I would join your company, should you have me. I find myself capable with the sword and shield, and few men have found themselves heartened by mine presence on the field."

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
Faladril, the tall Noldor, steps up to Hurin, "I think this is wise. I was hoping you would because I shall be departing from the fellowship." He holds a hand up to stop anyone from complaining just yet. "I have much soul searching to do since my encounters in Moria. I will remain here in Lorien for a time. Perhaps my way shall lead me back to you, perhaps it shall take we West over the Sea. I can not say right now, but I can say my path diverges from yours, for a little while at the least."

Book 2 - Act 3: Lothlorien
Kalek feels like he ought to go with the company to learn more. He plans to at least until their road leads in the direction of Erebor. Then at least he will return to his kin, meet King Dain, and bring the ring. He bids Faladril farewell, knowing his valor and skills as a healer will be missed.
