Chapter One, Part Two - The Old Monastery

The sands of the desert are unforgiving, and those who show weakness rarely survive.
Beset by gnolls and genies, can the heroes stop a wish-maddened warlord from raising one
of the infamous Spawn of Rovagug, a living holocaust cast down millennia before? In order
to do so, they'll need to brave sand, flame, and the terrors of the Outer Planes—yet the
forces at work against them are limited only by the reach of their imagination.
And the enemy has had thousands of years to prepare...

The Legacy of Fire Adventure Path begins in the desert nation of Katapesh, where
the heroes must attempt to retake a conquered town from a pack of fearsome gnolls.
From there, the trail leads to the fortress known as the House of the Beast, an ancient
map-world created by one of the most powerful wizards in history, and even the
legendary City of Brass on the Plane of Fire. A Paizo Adventure PathAs told by Sha'ir Trogdor

Taruk feels a more drastic punishment would have been necesarry but he understands Almah's reasoning even if he finds it cowardly. Perhaps Dakshi will dare to cross them once more then he will be punished by a blade.

With the decision made and Dashki off brooding, the band of heroes returns to the temple of Varshisal. This time there is nothing there to distract them. Standing before the secret stairway, they prepare for their descent.
Any last minute preps before you descend? (Mage Armor, Zak?) If you have a preferred order of descent, please tell me or I'll just assume one.

Krangrimdar is not completely satisfied with lady Almah's response, but she is the one in charge and so he bows to it.
But dwarves to not treat oathbreakers nor thieves lightly. Dashki will have to work a lot to regain Krangrimdar's trust.

Nonetheless the group is now ready to explore the crypt. Krangrimdar gladly offers to be in the forefront. He prepares axe and shield.

“I can go first if you all like. And I am pretty sure that Taruk wants to be with me as well."

Aakif nods to Lady Almah in a show of respect as the group leaves. His dreams from the night before continue to plague his mind as half remembered scenes emerge only to be immediately forgotten again. His despondency may or may not be noted by the rest of the faithful, but to any paying attention, he is clearly distracted.

As the party arrives at the temple, Aakif snaps out of his fugue and nods to Krangrimdar.

"Be my guest. I'll follow closely behind."

The Undercrypt

Post by Trogdor » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:03 am

Finally, the group is ready to head into the crypts. The secret door is opened, and everyone trods down the stairs, magical lights prepared for the trip. At the bottom, they reach the monastery's undercrpyt. This bottom level is a series of ten-foot-wide rough-hewn passages dug in a double-cross formation. The main thoroughfare runs north to south, with two similar east-west passages crossing the main hall about fifty feet apart. An eerie silence pervades the cool subterranean funerary network, which must contain the bodies of scores—if not hundreds—of honored worshipers of Sarenrae in shallow niches carved into the walls of the east-west passages. Many of these skeletal remains have been roughly tossed from their niches, and countless bones and skulls line the floor.

Taruk sniff the air and studies his surroundings his natural orcish Darkvision giving away much more of their surroundings than any of the magical lights or torches would. He has his shield up and his scimitar in hand and purposefully strides forward to the first intersection where he debates what t do then as the other s have caught up takes the left bend.

Aakif cautiously follows behind Taruk, keeping a look out for anything of danger.
Searching for traps as we go.

The group moves cautiously through the undercrypt to the first intersection. Two passages lead out to the left and right, with numerous niches visible along their lengths. A door is visible at the end of the main corridor, quite likely the door to the laboratory.

Zak follows with Samrah right by his side making sure Khadeeja is well protected. He stops to ensure he is protected by his magical armor. He breaks the groups silence by asking "Door first or one of these side passages?"
Yes Mage armor please.
