Khadeeja calls to the Dawnflower, "Burning Sarane, smite our foes, blind them in your holy like!" She then moves up next to Farouq, she can't hope to reach the snake in time for an attack so she forms that line the man calls for. Bolstered by his words she readies for a strike on her.

The Spire of the Serpent - Round 2

Post by Trogdor » Mon Oct 27, 2014 8:10 pm

Khadeeja moves forward, summoning the power of Sarenrae to weaken their foe. She stands with Farouq, forming a battle line at the door.

Krangrimdar also moves forward and joins the line as well.

Aakif is not so conservative. "It has reach on us," he calls out as he rushes forward. "It will never close." Then, as he gets near, the huge snake strikes out at him. But the dervish is just too quick for the serpent. He ducks under the snake's head, and right up to its enormous coils. Tempest strikes, but it doesn't pierce the cretures incredibly tough scales.

Malik and Farouq can act now.
Round 2: Malik 28, Farouq 25, Snake 22, Khadeeja 8.5, Krang 8.3, Aakif 7

5 ft step south. Full attack. Keep up inspire courage as a free action. Bodyguard Aakif and anyone else adjacent up to 5 times for +4 AC
Farrouq sees that they need to think offensively here and steps forward just a step behind Aakif and thrusts his spear into the snake's hide swiftly.

Without a clear shot at the snake, Malik makes his way up the steps and into the room. Strafing the wall until backed into a corner, the caster points his finger as a bolt of lightning emanates from it.

Malik knows that this is no time to pull punches. He steps forward and casts one of his most powerful spells, summoning a lightning bolt that strikes square on the snakes side, leaving a large electrical burn where it hit. But the snake is made of sterner stuff than that and remains up.

Farouq then steps forward and stabs at it with his spear. But the serpent's hide is just too thick, and the point of the spear just rakes across the snake's side, taking off a few scales, but doing no other harm.

Then the snake rears back and tries to bite Aakif. But the dervish is quick, and he has Farouq waving it off with his spear. The snakes head comes nowhere near Aakif.

The heroes have a chance to act again.
Round 2: Malik 28, Farouq 25, Snake 22, Khadeeja 8.5, Krang 8.3, Aakif 7

Khadeeja charges forward, well within the reach and protection of Farouq. Her axe in hand she brings it down in a chopping blow at the side of the massive serpent hoping to open up a bleeding wound down its side to put an end to the creature.
South South (that's within the Bodygard of Farouq)
Attack it normal, seems to have a high AC, with axe

Malik shifts his feet a bit to both stay out of others way and maintain a line of sight. Thrusting both hands forward, the caster sends three purple and black orbs of energy towards the snake.
Move: SE

The Spire of the Serpent - Combat over

Post by Trogdor » Wed Nov 26, 2014 10:11 pm

Khadeeja rushes into the fight, swinging Genie Bane in an overhand chop that skitters off the snake's scaly side. Tough, and slippery, it may be hard to land a blow.

But then Krangrimdar and Aakif buck the trend. The dwarf moves in an in a sideways blow with his axe cuts a huge gash in the giant anaconda's side. Then, the dervish follows up with a one-two slash with Tempest and Storm right under the beast's head that causes it to sway back and forth like a pendulum, finally falling to the ground, stone cold dead.

The temple is silent as the snake corpse slowly cools.
Khadeeja moves S S
Snake gets AoO (vs AC 23 b/c of AO, -1 Bane): 20; miss
Khadeeja attacks with axe (no PA): 19; miss

Krang moves and attacks: 23; hit for 19 damage!

Aakif full attacks the beast: 23; hit for 12 (+2 fire) / 25; hit for 7; DEAD

No need for Malik to cast MM. I marked it as uncast on his sheet
