Withdrawn: Slower voting process

Post by Deadman » Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:03 am

The voting process is too fast, giving those who cannot post frequently on Brennor's an unfair disadvantage. Therefore I propose that:
A proposal does not become a rule until it has been up for voting for at least six hours or has a tally of +5.
This will give time for a fair sampling of voters to respond, but still allow very popular proposals likely to pass to speed on through.

NAY.

The rule is just very poorly worded. The way it reads right now it raises the "auto accept" vote count to 5, but also decreases the expire period to 6 hours...which is way too short.

I'd suggest you just change the quick-accept value to +5 and the quick-fail to -5.

NAY.

(Gonna try my hand at this game)

I think what he was trying to say was that he wanted the proposals to be on the table for a minimum of 6 hours.

Aye, that's what I was going for. This wouldn't change the 24 hour expiration. It would just make a proposal need to stay up for a minimum 6 hours, unless it reaches +5/
