Chapter One - The Haunting of Harrowstone

From the whispering shadows of haunted Ustalav an ancient evil rises to grip the world in a new age of horror! Amid the mists of this land of dark superstition and dread secrets stand both those who would defy the return of evil and those who would seek its terrible favor. Can the heroes discern their allies from their enemies in time to save a tortured realm from a tyrant's return? Pathfinder's darkest and most frightening campaign ever sets the heroes against the agents of Golarion's most notorious villain, the Whispering Tyrant, in a terrifying trek across a land of lurking horror and ancient mysteries.

Carrion Crown is the eighth campaign to grace the pages of Pathfinder Adventure Path and is scheduled to be run by the GM Eanwulf.

Razor howls as his body is engulfed in flames. Spinning and patting at himself he manages to put the fire out as he calls down a Judgement of the Gods. "Iomeade, aid your loyal servant, this foul beast must fall before I return to ash and visit your domain." His body flushes with divine power as he burns begin to vanish little by little, he waves his hand, forming the sign of the his goddess and the church as he blasts the furnace with a ray of positive energy .

Indrazor quickly extinguishes the last of the flames from his body. His brow furrows deeply as he does so. Vowing to remain standing for however long it takes to ensure that the evil behind the animated furnace is dealt with, the large warrior's howls of agony turn into prayers of recourse as he passes final judgment upon Ember Maw's most horrid and unholy existence. One way or the other, Indrazor will not rest until the spirit(s) inhabiting the aberrant furnace are laid to rest!

The power of Iomeade courses swiftly throughout Indrazor's body and already he begins to feel quite refreshed and made anew. The bold warrior of justice gestures and chants a bit further and then suddenly emits a ray of searing light from the palm of his hand. The ray of light strikes the furnace in front of its faceplate. The spirit within howls violently and recoils in horror. The inquisitor's spell has hurt it and a blast of flame and smoke are the creature's response as it continues to wail and shift about the room.

"Iomeade, aid your loyal servant..." beckons Indrazor, his words sparking Sister Elena into action. The young priestess quickly...

Anric steps forward and touches the oven, praying that the power of Iomedae will flow through him. She has already granted him some protection against fire. He hopes it will preserve him from injury in this case.
Lay on hands on the haunt. That should be 1d6 damage. (I hope.)

I also hope that ER 2/fire will keep me from getting hurt by touching the oven.

Elena not knowing how to help herself other than calling on Iomedae's divine might to wash out this fiery spirit calls to her godess to end this farce.

Indrazor's prayers to Iomeade prompts Elena to do the same. Murmuring nothing more than a simple, though humble prayer to her patron, the young priestess soon floods the room with a burst of divine radiance. Ember Maw howls wildly and thrashes about, belching forth plumes of flame and smoke as the cleric's efforts tear away at its very essence. In time, the furnace's movement stops and all around it grows silent. Stepping forth to lay a hand upon the silenced structure, Anric can already detect that its warmth has begun to grow cold and dim.

Old Ember Maw has been laid to rest. At least for the time being...

"Well done, Elena," Anric says. "The haunt is gone ... at least for now." Then he peers into the oven, interested to see if any clue about the haunt might be inside.

Razor quickly weaves a prayer and scans the room for signs of further evil afoot...

Delphane keeps his crossbow ready just in case the creature is really not at rest.

Variel stows his bow as he moves up next to Anric.

"Let me know if you get any twitches," he says over his shoulder to Razor before joining the Paladin.

"Let me check this thing for traps or other hidden dangers before you go sticking your hand into it," he says jovially to Anric. Variel pulls an unlit torch out of his pack as he checks the outside of the furnace.
Variel uses perception on the Ember Maw. Outside first and then inside. As part of his check he uses the torch to try to poke around in the furnace before stowing it and using his hands if he feels the furnace is "clean"

Fast Healing is a Judgement and its effects last as long as you are alive and the judgement is still active. Sadly, once combat ends so does a Judgement. Two hit points is all you wind up getting as combat ends the round you started it :(

Judgement (Su)
Once activated, this ability lasts until the combat ends, at which point all of the bonuses immediately end.

Fast Healing
This causes the inquisitor to heal X points of damage each round as long as the inquisitor is alive and the judgment lasts.
Having bested the furnace, Anric proceeds to place his hand upon the structure's faceplate. It is still warm to the touch, though seems to be cooling off quite rapidly. Off to the distance, Indrazor murmurs another prayer to his goddess. The half-orc then snorts as he notices that the wavering aura of evil still lingers around Ember Maw's entrance. He quickly breathes a little easier at noticing the emanations themselves likewise fading in magnitude. Opening the grill already, Anric spots a deep layer of ash and other powdery residue lining the inside of Ember's enormous "belly." Cautioning the paladin to give pause, Variel approaches the furnace and begins to poke around to make sure the way is clear.
Faint dweomer of evil on the furnace, but it's waning away much like the heat. No apparent traps. Sending out PM.
