[17962] First Steps, Part 3: A Vision of Betrayal

Davic's vision returns and he sees the bartender with the artifact in hand and he immediately weaves a hex upon her. His spell hits her and she quickly finds herself getting sleepy until she's passed out laying on the floor of the Grindylow's Goblet. As she begins to fall, like so many of those standing in Davic's way, he draws his dagger and looks ready to move.

Meanwhile, Misha takes aim at the gillman body guard wielding the spear. Misha stabs with her rapier and then takes a quick step back from the woman. The tip of her rapier finds an opening and leaves a tiny mark upon the gillman's torso.

Ahrmisa is annoyed by Misha's strike, but rather than chase after the woman, she turns and thrusts her spear towards Kiwi. However, Kiwi's both small and agile , but his vision has also not been fully healed just yet. As he leans down to scratch his eyes, the gillman's spear misses his head by inches.

In the back of the room, Nester is finally able to free himself from the spider web and begins to make his way over. His vision is restored and he says, "They are trying to escape through the aquarium! It leads to the water below!"

"Get her while she's still down!" Davic shouts. "She'll wake up in a few seconds!"

Someone close enough can use a coup de grace on her while she's asleep. But once she wakes up (on Davic's action), that option goes away. Use it or lose it, I say! It provokes an AoO, but it scores an automatic critical. Haseo can 5 foot step SE and be safe from AoO, I think.

"Kill her!" Haseo commands the dog. The dog obliges by striking at the sleeping gillman's throat. Haseo comes up to either finish the job, or grab the artifact.

Action

Dog: Full-round action (smite Evil) Coup de Grace on U. Haseo: Move SE. If U dies, grab artifact. If U survives, draw dagger and stab.

Hase's dog lunges at the prone sleeping gillman woman's throat. The dog rips flesh from near the gills of her neck exposing skin underneath. As Ulionestia is attacked, she awakens to find Haseo stabbing at her with his dagger. Fortunately for her, his dagger doesn't do any considerable harm unlike the teeth of the dog.

"Now, now you pay for all of this." He side steps to the east and throws down his vial right among the enemies and quickly draws another.

Throw firebom at juctions between eenemies so not to hit us. Sotuheast corner of A. Splash alone should do it.

Kiwi tosses his vial and it explodes against he wood floors. Fire quickly shoots up and sprays over the two accomplices and as they react to the burns, both of them falls over. The gnome's concoction was the final touch to defeat those who would steal the artifact they carried all the way from Absalom.

Yea! That was final battle of adventure, there's some RPing left so we should be able to close this up by end of week

As the two gillman join the third on the floor, Nester rushes over just in time to pick up the artifact. "Good work, Pathfinders. I'll be sure to inform your superiors of your acts. It appears we've been played this entire time. I'd wager these gillman worked for the Aspis Consortium."

"We should speak with the Gillman Embassy. And make sure they had nothing to do with this betrayal."

[Trogdor]

"Would they admit it if they were?" Davic asks dryly.

[Shurijo]

Nester shakes his head, "Quite possibly they wouldn't. The ambassador there might not be connected to this anyways."

[Vardaen]

Kiwi watches as his fire is eventually dosed by the spilling fish tank. "Good job to those that were not blinded. I couldn't see, I am sorry that I was not more help." He walks over to the Gillmen and then begins to loot their corpses not leaving anything behind. He then looks up, "The bartender, he was an enemy too? Free drinks for us I believe."

[Trogdor]

Davic looks around to see if any patrons or staff remain, wary against further attack. Gets to the bar, he takes a bottle from and puts it on a serving tray, to which he adds several glasses. While Kiwi is looting the bodies for valuables, he pours a drink for himself and each of his companions.
