In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.
They called it the greatest discovery in human history.

Anar, looks between Knight and Kinney and snarls at the woman. He shouts, "Knight wait up!" The Krogan has decided that he's going to stick with his long time friend Jason instead of trying to make it work in this tin can. The two head back to the air lock and before the Moulari can leave they are a board.
Whao, Break time. Looks like veritas wants to drop. And since thehitcat is gone is a good reason to have him go now to. Takign this to OOC

Bata'Vek looks with disbelief at the heated argument, seemingly coming out of nowhere. "What in all of the flying hells? Come on, Kinney. You and I get along fine. We're going to get shanked in the showers if we start fights like that here." He doesn't go after Knight and Anar, knowing that nothing he says will change their minds. "Let's finish unpacking and get to our next assignment. We've got to keep our heads in the game."

"I didn't start with it," Kinney replies, a bit shocked that Anar and Knight actually went through with it. "I was merely trying to point out that this is just some kind of tradition, not much else, and that there's no reason to worry about it at all. Yes, lets look forward."

As Anar and Knight walk away, Selena chases after them. But no, she's not leaving with them. The Asari shares a few quiet goodbyes with the two, shaking both their hands and wishing them well. That completed, she returns.

"Bata'Vek has a point," he says, catching the conversation between the two remaining. "You've got to learn to be more diplomatic in what you say. I know you don't intend it, but what you say often rubs people the wrong way." Her words are not accusatory, but offered more as advice from a friend.

"But yes," she agrees. "Let's look forward. The past is behind us and unchanging. We gain nothing from worries or regrets about what has already been."

The Quarian pats both his friends on the back with his long limbs, shaking his head. "If we could survive a bombing run, a crazy Turian biotic, and wiping out a violent gang, I think we can live through just about anything." He laughs uproariously. "Even living with each other!"

Tech Officer Alud Ochren

Post by Vardaen » Tue Aug 06, 2013 5:57 pm

Things are back to normal almost, the trio used to live with one another on Aite, not in the same room but at least in the same camp. Bat'aVek is in high spirits even with Jason and Anar gone.

The door to the bunk room opens up and a lanky Turian with a pistol on his hip and light blue armor along his torso looks you over. "Down to three already? Might be the fastest drop out we've seen yet, but it won't be the last. Come on, you are due in the simulator for your competency test."

He leads out of the bunk area and into and through the main area. The Admiral is standing at the CIC area watching the front screen. He watches you with steely eyes and the gives an order to one of his men. "Bring the training area up on the main screen." The front screen shimmers and the view of the asteroid field is replaced with a blue and orange grid screen that marks the holo arena before anythings been overlaid into it.

The Turian walks on those strange birdlike legs of theirs and leads you to an area on the far side of the station. "This is Tech Officer Alud Ochren a (salarian) technology specialist aboard the Station. Ochren is the original designer of the combat simulator aboard the station, and programs the various scenarios."

Ochren is impatient and general indifferent toward you. He rattles off his words, fast and furiously like most Salarians. "Don't forget your passwords every solider on this station always forgets their password so tired of resetting passwords so don't forget yours without it you can't access the simulator then you have to ask me and I have to reset it and I hate resetting passwords I have better things to do than that understood good." He takes his first breath and give you your log in information, login is your last name, and your password is a string of 14 alphanumeric characters totally random with three special characters from the Salarian alphabet.

Bata'Vek blinks once, then cocks his head and makes a special effort to memorize his password. As an engineer himself, it's best not to get on the bad side of the main guy in charge of a technical issue. Even if Ochren isn't vindictive (or homicidal) enough to arrange an 'accident' in the simulator, he can still pull enough tricks that the Quarian's life could be made a living hell. And so the special effort. The fact that he is fluent in the main Salarian dialect is a help as well, since the three extra characters are in no ways foreign to him. "Understood, memorize usernames and passwords."

Given Ochren's speedy talk, he doesn't anticipate getting any more in that that before the Salarian verbally jets off to the next instructions.

Kinney notes down her password sure that she won't recall everything, especially not the Salarian characters.

"Do we need that for later, when we're going on a test run for the Admiral or does that mean we can use the simulator in our down time if there is one," the human asks.

Selena also does her best to commit the long, random string of alphanumerics to memory, her fluency in Salarian making her at least familiar with the Salarian characters. "Very good, sir," is her only reply.

Ochren sighs, "You need it for all training for tracking stats and monitoring your use of the simulator. Later perhaps you will have time like the others do to set and use as you see fit."

The Turian, who still hasn't given you his name, motions you on. "Alright so you have your log in, over here you can log into the computers, set up your profiles. Then you'll be going into the simulator for a test run, see where your baseline is. Come on." After twenty minutes of making your profile and logging in and trying hard not to forget your password you are inputted into the system. From there you can check a bunch of personal stats along with public rankings and stats of other members of Pinnicle. It would seem that when you have down time you can sign up for simulator time. There are several locations to pick from such as warehouse, jungle, and volcanic, and various scenarios to try out like a capture the flag, timed trials, survival mode and more. "You are up in ten minutes, make ready. I'll go have Ochren que up your Sim."
