"Good ideas." Rod says, thinking. "What about something with Mermaid? Though Sea Nymph, I like that. It's a bit of a pleonasm though. Sea Wench? Wind Nymph? Mermaid's Pleasure? Mermaid's Fortune? Lucky Mermaid? What do you think?

Rod laughs. "Nice! Hmmm ...Our home base is Tidewater Rock. What about Star of the Rock? Or Rock Star?"

Seroneth makes a face at the last two names. "Go back, you were doing better before!"

"Rock Star?" Rosie stands up, walks over to the Captain and punches him the arm, "Someone get the captain more ale, he's clearly not drunk enough, or maybe he's too drunk and in that effing case we need to make 'im pass out so we forgets this whole bloody night." There a cheer among the crew about drinking.

The crew is rowdy all night as you square away a new name.

"Ok, ok, yer right. Let's take the best suggestions and vote. I'll think we should vote on one of the following: Wicked Wench, Sea Nymph, Lucky Mermaid, and Sea Strumpet. Any other favourites I should include?"

Flavinia still thinks the Wicked Wench sounds the best, though why wouldn't she? It's her own creation after all. If pressed to pick another, she'd go with Sea Strumpet.

Spending her nights partying like there was no tomorrow, or as per her own designation: "Party Like a Pirate!", keeping just sufficiently sober to mostly be in control of herself and not do anything she'd regret in the morning (aside from drinking so much that the headache would be terrible, that regret was a constant companion, until she had repaired it by more rum and, spending what was left of the late morning nursing the hangover, Flavinia finds time in the afternoons to do more practical things, like letting it be known that their ship is hiring. Given her antics and wild tales, she's as likely to attract creeps like Conchobar too dense to understand that they are totally unnecessary for pleasure or young gloryhounds that will just get eaten by Sahaugin and kinky crawlers. She probably should have made up an exciting story with not so many gruesome deaths, but that's somehow wrong to her. People shouldn't sign on a ship because of lies and embellishments. Although if they liked her style of storytelling and partying, why, welcome aboard!
Diplomacy +6 for hiring

So do those of us trying to hire each make a roll, or are we aiding each other?

Rod hangs around and also helps with the hiring, also he tries to uncover any rumors about Meri's sister, more treasure or anything interesting.

See OOC for info.

So options while on shore leave so we don't spend too long doing this. Plus your own thoughts, think of something we can roll some dice for.

Nine Pin Tournament - Xie
Fishing / Hunting in the Jungle
Training / Crafting / Tattoos
You could aid in the Sqibbing to try and speed it up
Drinking, Whoring, Relaxing, basically nothing productive
Gambling or Pirate Games: viewtopic.php?f=716&t=6843#p249038
Hire New Crew (you have 21 but could go up to 40) - Seroneth, Flavina
Rumor Gathering (Buried Treasure, Meri's Sister, Personal Plot Stuff) - Rod
The voting for the new ships name begins, Rod produces a secret ballot for folks, and members of the crew offer their thoughts, those among the officers holding the most weight of course. Flavina and Seroneth spend their time recruiting deck hands, swabs and riggers both. They are silver tonged pirates, and from the small population of the isle they manage to recruit six new deckhands, a pretty good haul considering how few locals there are.

The Captain mingles with Rickety and others and hears some far fetched tales about treasures and items of interest, but none of the locals know anything about Meri's sister. He hears of a Crystal Dodo and of a Skeleton Ball Gown.
6 Crew, you guys can each make up a 1 paragraph bio for them. There are 5 of you and 1 of me, so each player can add a crew member and I'll do the same. PM me and I'll collect them and add them to the sheets/forums.

Jake "Shiny Buckles" Ninnies - The Ghost of Oyster Sandbar! Jake is a tall human man, and as his name suggests he loves wearing large shiny buckles. He has them all over his armor, not just on his belt. He's a rather seasoned sailor in his thirties. His last ship went down on Oyster Sandbar in the Shackles, and he was the lone survivor, which has caused some to call him a ghost, as he's haunted by that memory. Never has been the same, but he's nursed his pain here at Rickty's long enough and its time he takes to the waves once more.
Crystal Dodo
Considered a lucky treasure, this crudely carved statue gains value each time it is stolen or sold. Some captains claim that as long as this prize was on their vessels, the ships were never successfully boarded, but seeing how its current owner stole the thing from a rival captain's quarters, that can’t be true.

The Skeleton Ball Gown
On the new moon of Neth, wealthy citizens of Port Peril hold an elaborate festival in which they dress up in their best finery and disguise themselves as skeletons. Chosen each year, the Skeleton Queen is bequeathed an expensive glamered ball gown and the honor of naming next year’s Skeleton Queen.
