Book 1: Chapter 4 - The Crow: The Lower Levels

Eberron is a world of pulp noir where swashbuckling and intrigue run rampant. The Last War is over, the war to end all wars, but many say the fighting has simply shifted from the battlefield to the shadows.

In the wake of a long and terrible war, a world struggles to find its destiny. Will it descend once more into brutal conflict and end in spectacular annihilation, or will the world emerge at last into a new era of peace and prosperity? One group of heroes hopes to make Eberron a better place. The Grey Company, formed by a collection of heroes recruits new members to their growing ranks -- you among them.

"Don't forget the spiral maze and the hellhounds. We deactivated the summoning portal, but it is still there. And there were devils or demons. We dealt with them, but some escaped back to their dimension and may come back to the Crow later.
The doctor said he'd need some time for me to get rid of the big spider's poison. And I can't call Shakti back until tomorrow. But I can set off as soon as needed."

"Oh, right. After touching that Shard, my mind has been a bit boggled so I guess it was only natural I missed a few things." Oloven runs a hand through his hair. "Personally, I'd like at least a couple days myself. I'd like to spend a day in a temple and then another resting up. Clearing the Crow was not easy and had it not been for some timely heals a few of us may not have made it back." Oloven turns to the others to see what they think. Once they figure out how long they will need to recuperate, Oloven continues. "We also have a great deal of collected treasures to sort and sell. Mostly weapons and armor from fallen foes. Would you know where it would be best to do so?"

"A few days isn't a problem," Val says. "You deserve the rest. Just let me know when you're ready to take off again. I'll give you the most up-to-date information I have at that point."

"Where to sort out your treasure?" he adds. "Plenty of options. You could always use the planning room down on two. I don't think anyone's using that today. There's also the planning room outside of Imric's office as well. You'll have to ask him if that's free." He raises an eyebrow Imric's way. "I think Junkpile was giving a talk to the artificers on seven, so that's right out." A thought occurs to him. "You might check out and see if the private room at the Drinken Shifter is being used. That's always a good place to sort through things without interruption. And you can have some beer while you deal with the items. Just remember that whatever you don't want, the Grey Company will be happy to take off your hands."

Zeevan leans against a wall while the rest of the group goes through the list of things they accomplished, smiling slightly. It was certainly a grand adventure, and he's looking forward to a rest.
Sorry guys, been crazy busy this week. I should be back to a more normal posting schedule next week.

Imric adds, "Also the survivors from the Derro are recuperating in one of the chambers down stairs. I believe we will want to have a word with Constable about the edict from The Harbor Lord Jonas Wylkes about their return." He scribbles down some notes.

Then he turns to Nirus, "Sir, do you have anything to add."

"Yes, yes," Val adds with a nod. "We'll get them fixed up and sort things out with the Constable." He glances over to Imric. "Maybe Jon can talk to him." Then he looks back to the others. "Captain Jon Spencer is in charge of the Inquisitive branch of the Grey Company. He has as good a relationship with the Constable as anyone in the city does." He doesn't add 'that isn't paying him off,' figuring that wouldn't be politic.

"We'll make sure any reward for their rescue comes to you. Have no fear."

"Now, Nirus, the floor is all yours." He takes a seat.

"The Shard of Lust?" Ben blinks a couple times, "You need to give that to Nirus. All sorts of comely maids look to him like he's some sort of beefcake." The shifter laughs, "Crazy, I know, but they do. And look at him, he's like a piece of ice."

Nirus nods when Imric inquires about the anxious looking elf. The ranger then says, "I would like to see your illustrations and maps of any runes, shrines, or statues. The lady elf fresco which you previously documented provided interesting information for my research. I hoped you were able to retrieve more information to help continue my studies on my elven ancestors and the original giants."

"Yes. There was no shortage of interesting things in the Crow. We documented what we could given the dangerous nature of the inside of that place. I am certain there is enough to keep you busy." Oloven smiles and then runs a hand through his hair again.
