Zeevan shrugs at the lack of perfume. "Well it could be interesting to try out smelling like rosewater for a while. It seems rather unnecessary but if it helps me blend in more I wouldn't mind, as long as it's not costing me a lot of coin. Regardless, I'm grateful for the advice."

Cloud's Destiny: Afternoon Excitement

Post by Vardaen » Mon Nov 16, 2020 6:51 pm

You head off to your quarters for the night and rise in the morning at the Morning Bell. You set yourselves to breakfast and find the whole ship is out an about. People are NOT wearing armor or carrying more than a token weapon, a few bodyguards have a blade, but that's all. Breakfast is fine, served up by a small man always complaining about a large dog that seems to be causing him trouble in the mess hall. Its a fine fare, and you make for the deck later and get a look on various folks, some from last night, and a few others.

The ship is a marvel, and the travel is smooth sailing. Late in the afternoon the Bosun, a large half orc man stands on the bow of the ship and starts to shout. It draws your attention, and you curse your luck expecting trouble, but you then realize he's shouting to get your attention for something fun, not some sinister trouble taking place. "COME QUICK! COME COME LOOK!" He is pointing off the port side of the bow, there dancing among the clouds is a small herd of Pegasus. The dip and dance among the clouds weaving in and out among one another. You see two smaller foals among the herd who buck and dance with joy.

You hear one of your halfling accountancies comment, "Now there are some noble mounts to be had."

Taris goes up to the top deck armed with just her sword like the guards, and gapes at the flying animals. She "awws" at the little ones, commenting on how happy they look. "I kinda want one now, but then I'd have to leave Fennec behind if we ever needed to fly somewhere." She realizes that such an occasion might arise even without a pegasus, but keeps it to herself, and watches the pegasus herd with rapt attention as they and the ship pass each other by.

"Oh, how wondrous!" Ceridwen exclaims upon seeing the pegasi. The druidess fights down the urge to wildshape into a winged creature and join them.

Zeevan isn't a huge fan of heights this extreme anyways, so she enjoys the grandeur of the pegasi while not wishing she was riding one of them.

Cloud's Destiny: Night Two - Awake!

Post by Vardaen » Mon Dec 21, 2020 5:10 pm

The day had peaked with the Pegasi herd and the rest of the day is without event. You enjoy some down time, the meals are good, the company fine, you speak with one another and friends made on the ship. You suspect you will arrive in Sharn in good time. So when that second time you are woken up by the ringing of a bell and the shouting of men and the sound of arms clattering you are disappointed

Zeevan laughs, almost cackles, as she gets up. "Of course, of course. Vacation time is over, time to get back to business." She collects up her armor and weapons, attaching everything well enough to keep haste in getting to the deck.

The warning bells and shouting are no different to Taris' ears than a camp alarm, though it does throw her off when compared to watching winged foals play while enjoying a luxury cruise a day earlier.

Getting her armor on puts her a minute behind Zeevan. The straps are looser and the pieces shift a little as she moves. Some threaten to chafe at her arms and legs. She tells herself that it'll pay off, wondering that perhaps she should see about paying a squire, if the Grey Company has the right connections in Sharn. In any case, she slings her bow and arrow quiver, grabs her flail and her shield, and throws open the door to her room, shutting it with an afterthought before storming up to the commotion.
The things I've grabbed are the Merciful Flail, the bow & ammo, and shield. Because my armor is treated as one category lighter for "movement and other limitations", hastily donning should take only one minute vs four.

If not, I'll just put on the breastplate.

Cloud's Destiny: Night Two - A Choice

Post by Vardaen » Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:26 pm

Throwing on some light armor, only partially prepared you leave your state rooms and find one another in the hall. You make for the deck but don't reach it yet, you see some House Lyrander guards charging off toward the hold, and a few others making for the deck. Shouts are coming from both directions, it seems there may be enemies below and others above, putting you in the middle like some terrible sandwich. You must choose here, do yo make for the deck and the open air, or do you head for the holds and the area's below?
