Re: Attercop! Attercop! Lone Spider
Wren is running with the others when Varuthil veers off, up and onto a nearby boulder. Wren comes to a stop as fast as he can, feet sliding a bit on the forest floor. Turning and drawing at the same time, Wren targets a spider and lets an arrow fly.

Re: Attercop! Attercop! Lone Spider
Vaurthil and Wren are running back fleeing with the others. The she elf spots a rock in the middle of the path and heads right for it. She plants her foot and jumps up on the rock, climbs it and fires mid jump after leaping off it. Her shot is perfect, and slams into the body of the near spider sending it toppling off the branch down into the brush below. It is screaming now, hissing and sputtering in terrible pain from the well placed arrow.
Wern skids to a halt and fires his own bow. The shot strikes a few branches in the way and is deflected wide missing its target.
Aerth, with a spider dropping down onto the ground right in front of him...

Attercop! Attercop!
The spider tries to recover and counter with its sting, but the man is too nimble for it and Aerth easily avoids the strike from the Attercop. The other one, wounded, and bleeding badly scampers off into the darkness. Where there is one spider however there are more, and a trip of dog sized arachnids with harry legs and bright black eyes begin to surround the group. They are perched on the limbs of trees and come running down the path.
Baldor keeps running...

Wren is disappointed his last shot went astray. Feet now firmly planted he focuses a bit more this time. Knocking another arrow and drawing back Wren eyes the lead spider on the path. After a quiet exhale he releases.

Re: Attercop! Attercop!
"Don't get too far away!" Aerth yells at Baldor, returning his attention to the spider in front of him. He rears back and swings again, still trying to cut the injured spider in twain.

Re: Attercop! Attercop!
Aerth calls after Baldor not to get to far ahead, then he swings his long hafted axe into the side of the spider. The head connects with the spider's head and that ends it. The blow knocks the corpse a few feet away, the body twitching and the legs curling up under it. He starts to move as Wren fires off an arrow that grazes the other spider down on the trail. The arrow doesn't strike it in the body, but it slices its back lightly as he flies off into the forest, that might slow it down a bit.

Varuthil draws another arrow from her quiver, aims with her bow, then looses the arrow at another spider.

Re: Attercop! Attercop!
Varuthil draws another arrow and fires. The well aimed shot slams into the fat body of the spider in the trees and knocks it off the branch backwards into the darkness. You don't know if its dead or not, but it does not rear its ugly head again, which is good enough.
There are only two spiders left but the finally make things very difficult for you. The one on the road facing Aerith leaps at him and knocks him to the ground, its large stinger on its butt slams into his chest with three quick strikes *tap-tap-tap*. The blows themselves are hardly anything but the poison in the sting makes his head swim. Pushing himself to his feet Aerith's head swims and he is starting to see double. Like some drunk he grabs a tree on the edge of the trail to keep his balance. For the moment he fights through it but that won't last long.
Up in the tree the other spider coils up and then out flows a burst of webbing that connects with Varuthil. The she-elf is quickly ensnared in the sticky rope sized webbing and is nearly pinned to the nearby trees and foliage all around her. The spider pounces off the tree branch and lands next to her, stinger slicing about wildly not striking home but threatening the now seized wood elf.

Re: Attercop! Attercop!
As he scrambles to his feet, Aerth feels nauseous. He turns his head and vomits from the poison now coursing through is body. While turning back to the spider, he calls out, "I am faint! The thing has poisoned me!" He cannot wait, though, or ponder what is going to happen to himself. For now, he knows he must fight on. Aerth leaps forward, swinging his axe over hand at the spider that poisoned him, hoping to foil its plans for a meal.
