The Easterly Inn - Holding

There is an inn, a merry old inn
beneath an old grey hill,
And there they brew a beer so brown
That the Man in the Moon himself came down
one night to drink his fill....

We will use this thread to deal with the Holding of the Easterly Inn.

Rules for Holdings:
viewtopic.php?f=742&t=7404

Step 1: Establishing the Holding - Heroes cannot own a holding unless they possess a minimum score in an appropriate characteristic. The rating of a holding is limited by a character's Standing if it is found within the borders of a hero's homeland, while it is limited by a hero's Valour score if it is located anywhere else (owning property beyond one's station is seen as unusual and rather suspect almost anywhere).

Since the Easterly Inn is not part of any land, you must use your Valour Score. I will however allow Pipkin to treat it as if it was the Shire and let him use his Standing if he so wishes, since it is as Dody puts it "the eastern most outpost of the Shire".

Looking at your various Valour Scores:

Finn: 3
Borir: 3
Varuthil: 2
Wren: 2
Aerth: 2
Pipkin: 1 (Standing 0)

A Respectable Small Inn has a min score of 3. So it appears that only Finn and Borir could join in and take the Inn as a Holding. It would seem that would also make the most sense ICly as I don't see Wren, Aerth, or Varuthil dealing with matters of business or doing the books! Pipkin sort of suffers in this regard, but there are certainly ways for him to raise his Standing or Valour if he wants to join in.

Specialties
A character who owns a holding may profit from having a matching Speciality – an innkeeper should learn Cooking, a Hunter Beast-Lore and so on (see the Tend to Holding Fellowship phase undertaking, below).

Finn - Trading and Rhymes of Lore both fit fine.
Borir - Smith-craft works as well to assist Freir.
