Book 6: Act 3 - Fellowship Phase
New Fellowship Phase Undertaking:
Confer with Radagast the Brown
When a companion spends a Fellowship phase in Rhosgobel (or another location where he may be met), they may go and spend time with the Wizard, Radagast the Brown, who knows a great deal about the Wild.
A companion who has spent a Fellowship phase talking with Radagast may gain his next Lore or Explore level (player’s choice) at half the cost in Advancement points.
Alternatively, they may instead spend time helping Radagast in his garden, acquiring either the Beastlore or Herb-lore traits.
Just says GAIN, so yeah you get it forever.

Not this particular Undertaking, it's permanent. Though, it is strange that some Undertakings only give you a trait for an Adventure phase, and this one does permanently (as it lacks that language of "next Adventure Phase").
However, before it can happen, I imagine you have to have Radagast as a Patron.

Yeah, 2 undertaking, a good cost for it.

Yeah, it's a little odd. I assumed that it might be the result of the designers deciding Mirkwood-lore (which you can only get for one adventure) was more valuable than Beast-lore. Making it a prerequisite that you have Rhadagast as a patron makes sense though.

Okay, I've updated Varuthil's sheet. In addition to picking up Beast-lore, I'm bumping Insight up to 3, Valor up to 3 and taking the reward Grievous Weapon and applying it to my bow. In terms of the last, I'm thinking there might an elven bow-smith at Radagast's who could upgrade my bow. How does that sound, V?

Perhaps Radagast was holing onto a bow, forgotten among his things, and during your lessons he remembers it and its grievous ability to wound said beasts, etc and you swap it out.

I should be able to start a Fellowship thread up this week with what I have so far. I'll get that going.

Crap. I've been out of it for a while. I need a good beating to get back on track. I'll try and look into it tonight.
