Book 7: Act 2 - Fellowship Phase
So now there was nothing left to do but to fill their water-skins at a clear spring they found close to the forest-gate, and unpack the ponies.
The Hobbit, Ch 7, Queer Lodgings
So we can start the crunchy bits of Book 7: Act 2's Fellowship Phase.
XP Awards: 6 XP
AP Awards: 12 AP
Borir, Finn, Varuthil, Gerwald, Glirion
Extra XP (playing a bit of catch up with the 'level' gap) +3XP More
Glirion, Gerwald
Sheet's Updated
HOPE
A player-hero recovers 1 point of Hope at the end of a session if his Fellowship focus didn’t become Wounded, Poisoned, Miserable, or was harmed in any other way the Loremaster considers serious (such as imprisoned by Orcs) during play, and is in the same location as them.
A character gains 1 point of Shadow at the end of the session if his Fellowship focus was Wounded, or 3 points if the focus was killed.
Borir: No Fellowship Focus (pick new for next chapter?)
Finn: Varuthil (was wounded, no Hope regained, 1 Shadow Point Gained)
Gerwald: Glirion (was wounded, no Hope regained, 1 Shadow Point Gained)
Glirion: Gerwald (not wounded, +1 Hope Regained)
Varuthil: Finn (not Wounded, +1 Hope Regained)
You'll want to refresh Hope from the Fellowship Pool. (5 Points in Pool)
Borir Down 1
Finn Down 3
Gerwald Down 4
Glirion Down 3
Varuthil Down 5
Total Missing Hope 16, Fellowship Pool of 5. Someone's going to be missing some!
Eye Awareness Resets to (Elf 2, Men 2, Dwarf 1) = 5
Health reset to full.
So we will have a fellowship phase, which would be fun if everyone joined Finn going to Lake-town, after some stuff in the Vale. Would actually slide into Chapter 8 nicely.

Book 7: Act 2 - Fellowship Phase
Hey all, here is a nice big list of possible Fellowship Phase activities:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1716956638
Since this will be a long Fellowship Phase, if allowed to do 2 things, I plan to have Finn:
1) Visit the Kingstone (pg 60, HotW), as it is near Rhosgobel
2) Stay at Easterly Inn and help out (Holding Upkeep year end)
Then Finn will probably go to Laketown for the Winter, with whomever else would like to join...

Book 7: Act 2 - Fellowship Phase
Plus a new one: Not yet mentioned in the RP
Fellowship Phase
Either Rhosgobel or Mountain Hall may be made into a sanctuary through the Open New Sanctuary undertaking. There is also a special undertaking that might be pursued after this adventure:
Search for Answers
The character delves into books of lore, and spends long hours in conversation with the wise and the learned. Over the course of many weeks’ research, the character discovers secrets of lore related to an obscure topic. The character must have at least a rating of 1 in the Lore skill to complete this undertaking. The Loremaster may require the character to make tests of various skills (most likely Lore, Courtesy and Travel) to gain access to ancient secrets.
In this particular case, the character learns the history and nature of the Chain you saw. (Details if anyone takes this).

For Hope, might I suggest:
Borir +0 (Down 1)
Finn +1 (Down 2)
Gerwald +1 (Down 3)
Glirion +1 (Down 2)
Varuthil +2 (Down 3)

I'm hoping we can do two things as well. I want to 1) visit the Kingstone to regain 3 points of Hope; and 2) Search for Answers, as above, since this is exactly the sort of thing Varuthil would do.

I've spent the AP necessary to raise my Travel from 1 to 2. I'll be sitting on the rest of my AP and EXP, since I don't have enough to raise anything else I'm interested in raising.

So I'll do what Muskrat (Varuthil) suggested and update the sheets with hope in this way.

Re: Book 7: Act 2 - Fellowship Phase
Have you made a decision on whether we can do one or two undertakings during the Fellowship Phase?

Re: Book 7: Act 2 - Fellowship Phase
I'll give you guys 2 I suppose. But the second one is limited.
Depending on the 2nd one, here are options for your 2nd undertaking.
Our new players can open up a Sanctuary in Rhosgobel, Mountain Hall or the Easterly Inn, Take Radagast as a Patron. The old guard can tend to your Holding, Search for Answers, or convince me of something else that makes sense for a 2nd option.
