Welcome to the Lost East of Middle-earth

Far beyond the Sea of Rhun was another inland sea, the Sea of Helcar, and beyond that the range of Orocarni, the Red Mountains. Somewhere in the lost east, too, lay Cuivienen and Hildorien, where Elves and Men first awoke: all the Children of Iluvatar could trace their ancestries back to the eastward regions of Middle-earth.This Forum is for Work on the Rhun campaign setting for The One Ring RPG set in Middle-earth.

I plan to get back to this now that the holidays are over and some of my other games are kicking off/chapter change overs. If anyone is interested in helping still let me know.

So this article came to my attention via Facebook Group for The One Ring RPG

Sharing it here, and now I must continue my work on this setting.

Here is a great Tolkien resource specifically for RPGs.

Other Minds Magazine
(on this page you can read the contents of each issue)

OM Downloads
(on this page you can download issues)

For example, Issue 4 has these topics that would be applicable to the Lost East: A Brief History of the Dwarven Mansions (Issue 5 has: Amending "A Brief History of the Dwarven Mansions")

Anyway, take a look! If I read anything I will post it here.

Thanks. This is a slow project for me, but little by little I work things out. Thanks for the help.

Slow is good; that way you don't get tired of the prep work.
At the very end of Issue #2 are a bunch of good maps...not specific to the East alone, but they include it.

Just in case, I saw this and thought you might find it interesting. I haven't read it but it has an article on the Dark Elves: http://othermindsmagazine.com/downloads ... 8.pdf/view

Thanks. I've done some search in Other Minds for things. I still think that I'll get back to working on this. Could be a real fun setting, generally trying to find time, and a good timeline to set it in.

Yep, welcome. I'm still thinking through a First Age campaign. Have some good things collected. One thing now is that I'm waiting for c7 to release the Rohan related stuff so I have that to help...

I'll let you know if I get to a point when I'm ready to run one!
It will be probably set right before or after Dagor Bragollach, and the 17 years before Unnumbered Tears. It will be focused on the Houses of Men, and playable cultures will be one of the three Men cultures (Beorians, Hadorians, Haladin), Druedain, or Silvan Elves. I might add a Dwarf or Noldor, but mostlz it will focus on the others. We'll see.
