Ok, I spent 15Ap and 8xp, increased some skills, got the Valour award (Books and Maps) and spend 1 xp toward the Artificier of Eregion enchantment stuff.

I also got the Medical stuff covered because I increased Healing to 3.

Did @Vardaen share your character sheet with us on the "Fellowship of the North" thread?

I think it's there, but under the person who made the character. I just got control of it. Tarondor is the person I believe.

@Aegor Just a note about the somewhat confusing system of having XP and AP. AP can only be spent to upgrade "Common" skills - so Weapon skills are outside of this. So you got your Spends a bit off.

Here is how you could do a lot of what you hoped to do:
6 AP Healing Rank 3
2 AP Hunting Rank 1
4 AP Explore Rank 1
Leaving you 3 more AP to spend.

4 XP Valour Rank 2 (Books and Maps)
4 XP Longswords Rank 2 (Another confusing thing - Favoured Weapons do not cost less XP to improve; the discount only works on skills)
Regarding the Artificer of Eregion 1 XP upgrade; I'm certain you could find an ICly to discover it, but maybe V can give you all the info on how that Virtue works. You basically need a good forge and you can improve a weapon or two, giving a +1 to hit (up to +2) bonus. You might want to wait until we're back to Rivendell.

@Muskrat You also got the categories switched. It cost you 4 XP to raise Wisdom to 2, Meaning you have 4 more XP (as it's not enough to raise Valour or Wisdom, you could raise a Weapon skill to 1 or 2, or save the rest). It cost you 6 AP to raise Favoured Travel to 3, leaving you with 9 more AP for skills.

Oops, thanks. Fixed that.

Guide - In charge of all decisions concerning route, rest, and supplies. - Travel Skill

Scout - In charge of setting up camp, opening new trails. - Explore

Huntsman - In charge of finding food in the wild. - Hunting

Look-out - Man In charge of keeping watch. - Awareness

*No companion may assume more than one role, but there may be more characters for any role except the Guide.
I now have all the relevant skills except Hunting at 3 (and Hunting at 2), plus Explore and Travel are favored skills. I also have the Cultural Virtue, Way of the Wild, that lets me do all of them simultaneously for a party. In other words--I got it covered.

Sweet. So when we travel again (which hey, might be a while), the rest of us can just pick the roles where our skills best fit.

What did you mean by Hunting at 3 and Hunting at 2?
