Here is a map, similar to the one that Nalir had can you have now. This one is a bit more Meta of course, and the details of the exact location aren't clear.

V... since we talked about Aravule (tentatively) going to Bree... what if Telurin went to Rivendell? Would that be too far? I was thinking of going there for three purposes. 1) Explains XP spend with Lampmaking stuff, since he'd go to work in the forge there. 2) Research Dwarven Lore (Telurin's part on helping with colony search prep), 3) I want to further an IC storyline that began with the very first scene of this game, and hope to pick it up a bit to move it ever so slightly forward.
If Rivendell is too far, it will have to wait for another opportunity.

Rivendell is some 300 miles as the fish swims if Telruin went right up the Gwathlo to the Loudwater to Rivendell. Across Moderate and Hard terrain. Through Wild and Border lands. Eregion, Lone-lands, etc..
How long would that trip take? Down river you might get a boat from Rivendell and speed things up. The question is how long will you guys spend in this FP. I was expecting something shorter, like a month, or something.

I didn't know where this place was when I suggested Bree. I think we could probably supply ourselves in Dunland or Rohan instead.

OK, no worries then. I was wanting to make use of Telurin's "Lore" skill to do some research for us. But given the distance it doesn't make sense.
I was thinking of raising Valour from 1 to 2... and taking "Fell", which would mean somehow getting a new spear. ICly I'm not sure where that would come from....
Any suggestions V, of where we might go to research Lore/trade? Or can most of the supplies be done in Tharbad?

I know how I want to spend XP, but having trouble thinking how/where this would happen IC. (4 XP to raise Valour and get a new Spear, 1 XP to improve Lampmaking/get new ability "Lamp of the Far Traveller")

Get the spear in Rohan.

Ah very good point. I'll just spend the XP now on that, and then V can include that in the narrative during the adventure (in Rohan, or possibly elsewhere).
V, does it make sense for Telurin to be able to find a place he can forge the lamp during this phase?

I think the best plan for these to is to take them with us when we leave and then release them into the wild, so to speak. Certainly, we should do that for Orcare, who we promised freedom for in return for information.Werlar and Orcare must be dealt with as well before you leave Tharbad, but for the moment the two prisoners are left in the jail and are well tended.

Drop them off in Dunland somewhere. Make it difficult for them to get back to Tharbad.
