Chapter 1: Uncertain Friends and Certain Enemies

In Keltia, you are one of the heroes of the Dark Ages in the time of Arthur, when Britain was still a land of legends. Take part in the great battles sung of by the bards. Travel from the court of kings to the boundaries of the Island of Beli the Great, perhaps even enter the mists of the Otherworld. Maybe you will witness the end of the time of legends and the arrival in history of the greatest hero of Britain that will ever be: Arthur Pendragon.

You may be a clan warrior, a druid, a bard or a mage. Myrddin the Elder may guide you to search for the forgotten gods, hidden treasures and conspiracies to foil, taking you to the darkest forests, the mists of enchanted isles and haunted cairns. The bards will sing of your feats for centuries to come.

His head still pounding from over indulgence, Amblaïb grunts something vague in the direction of Berwyn and Nuallan. Clearly his brothers good spirits had at least a ways to go before catching up with his bad ones.

"Who knows what the Roman will have or be willing to part with?" He finally mutters,"And how these proceedings will go. All I do know is the two of you must grasp power with the Angles solidly, with two hands lest they rule you."

"She truly is beautiful. She seem to have the heart of a warrior. A man could do much worse. I just hope she is not more than I can handle." Berwyn laughs in response to Nuallan's compliment.

Rhedyn says nothing, for once keeping her sour thoughts to herself, since she does not want to ruin Berwyn's marriage day. She nods at Amblaib's words though, wondering if they have gotten more than they bargained for with the Angles. After a bit, she goes outside, looking at the patterns of the flight of birds in the air, hoping that in them she will find an omen that helps her understand how well Berwyn and Bearnoch's marriage will go, more in terms of the politics of it than their personal happiness. It's certainly too late to end the marriage, but if danger is coming because of it, they can brace for it.

Read Omen:

15 + 6 + 10 = 25 - 3 = 28 vs. 14, Success
Rhedyn steps outside and watches the birds fly. Her eyes go milky white as she does so, seeing beyond what most can comprehend or imagine. She sees men with crowns arguing, yelling, screaming with knives drawn at each others' throat. Down in a hole is Amblaib, Berwyn, and Bearnoch looking upward.

There would be strife, undoubtedly, but as omens were, the details are unclear and must be interpreted correctly.

Inside, the party continues, with most people happy to be enjoying themselves for the time being.

Rhedyn stays in her trance, gazing at the flight of the birds longer than she needs to perhaps. Then she withdraws from it and sighs. Well, strife that was always predictable she supposed. At least it seemed that Bearnoch and her nephews would all be on the same side--but also potentially overwhelmed. She supposed that there need not even be any ill-will to cause strife--bringing together two very different peoples with a history of bad blood was bound to cause conflict, even with the best will in the world. She would keep her eyes open for it. For now, she would say nothing, not wanting to ruin the new couple's wedding day--and because she really had no concrete fears she could point to.

Bearnoch is not with the rest of the party, but is with the Angle women preparing herself for the ceremony.

Bearnoch returns after some time, wearing a golden circlet that is wrapped in wild flowers, and a long gown of red. The day has grown long with feasting and boasting. It is difficult to know what will come on the morn, but today two peoples will be joined through a wedding ceremony. Calpurnia gathers Berwyn and whispers, "Are you ready?" Once she has the groom in place before her, she waves to Bearnoch to take her spot along side the Briton prince.
@Seosaidh feel free to describe Bearnoch in detail if you wish. Also, please try to put a bit more text into your RP, we need detail.

Berwn nods to Calpurnia. "I am ready, my lady." His stomach is fluttering and he feels somewhat light-headed. This is not a feeling he has known before. He had never given much thought to women, at least not like his brother had. He had assumed one day he would wed, but never had he imagined that it would happen so soon and in such an unexpected manner. Did he love Bearnoch? He had grown to respect her for her spirit and tenacity. She would make a good leader of her, their, people. He was certain of that. Why she had chosen him, he still did not know. They had started forming a friendship of sorts. He could see himself loving her. Yes, she would make a good wife, and he would be proud to have her as his woman.

As Bearnoch approaches he is struck by how beautiful she is. He truly must have the blessing of the gods. Perhaps it is the mead affecting him, but as he watches her approach, he cannot help but feel that all danger is behind him. Only happiness awaits. At least for now. Tomorrow may bring a new challenge, but he will deal with that then. Tonight, sorrow has been set aside and he only knows joy.

Rhedyn watches the ceremony with bemused detachment, curious as to how Calpurnia will conduct the marriage rite and how it would differ from a British wedding. She found herself shaking her head. Things were moving very quickly. Things had changed so radically in only a few short weeks. Her brother was dead, most of her people slaughtered, they were planning a great migration, one of her nephews was now king, another could well become king of the Angles, and they were forming a close alliance--too close an alliance?--with a people they had long regarded as enemies. She had a gnawing sense of dread within her as the ceremony moved forward. She hoped it was just the grief she felt and not some premonition.

Bearnoch keeps her head high and her back straight. She looks Berwyn in the eye as she approaches and is glad when he returns her gaze. While his tribe is now a shattered remnant of what it was, she is still glad to be unifying his and her people, as together they are certainly stronger than if they remained apart. She hopes that she, Berwyn, and Amblaib are able to overcome the divisions between their peoples and project a unified front to their enemies.

But all of that is a concern for tomorrow. Today, Bearnoch gets to enjoy formally joining herself to a new friend. A man that she is beginning to admire for his strength of character. While she has no doubt that their road together will not always be easy, she is certain that they will still experience much joy and perhaps even love together, and that this will help to strengthen them against any hardships that come.
