I am Eofor son of Eoforhild, until recently a member of the guard of Fastred Emissary of Fengel.

This is my first journey outside of Rohan and I am filled with wonder and anxiety by what I have seen of the world outside the borders of my home. Born to herders in Westfold my skill with horses led to post as a groom at 13 with a local theign Fastred. As I excelled at riding and sport I was offered a post last year in his guard.

Would that we had never left Westfold. Fastred is a proud and ambitious lord. Little wonder he was sent as an emissary of Fengel to these strange lands and strange people. Last night while drinking with representatives of Dale my theign heard of the Proclamation and offered the services of one of his guard. Why he chose me I don't understand, I am neither the strongest nor the wisest of his guard, perhaps I was the easiest for him to lose. Alas, now here I stand with Fram my travelling horse among peoples I have never seen. Dwarves and Elves and even Holbytla who appear only in nursery tales. Were it not for the shame I would bring to my lord and people I would turn Fram south and ride until I reached the rolling grassland and foothills of the White Mountains.
