Hey folks,

I've received another player request to leave the game. Based on time, and energy to learn this system. That would put us down to 3 players and 2 NPCs. I can't do 2 NPCs.

I also have trouble with this system. It seems like it should be good, but I have a brainlock on it, and can't seem to really get into it. I'm honestly considering ending the game after your escape. Would you all hate me?

It's fine with me. To be honest I've found myself becoming overall pretty disenchanted with the system and was considering making a similar request for withdrawal when it was convenient story-wise to do so.

Alright, that's 3PCs and 1GM

When we escape the Black Suns we can make a nice clean break.

That's too bad. I was enjoying the game and the system doesn't bother me. But the GM is supposed to be having fun and if you're not enjoying it.

What if we played it with another system and converted our characters? I though the Star Wars d20 Saga system was decent.

Saga was decent, and the dice sure make sure sense to me. Its sort of like Pathfinder in away, and easier to wrap my head around.

I would consider it, but I think I need to just see where I'm at after a break. Would Saga change anyone else's mind? I think we have some of the PDFs to share.

I'm going to look into this option, if others would be willing to also.

We will finish out the scene as is, and decide from there.

I'm willing to give the Saga rule set a chance.

Yeah, the dice system (much like Fate) I feel is much better for in-person games. PbP it can get rather confusing and often arbitrary. Using Advantages (and especially Triumphs) is supposed to be a fun chat with the players, or a cringing moment when a pile of Threat (or Despairs...) show up and we plead for mercy. That would take forever if we had to resolve all that in PbP, and without it it means the GM has to make all the decisions for the flavor decided by the dice.

I've never played the Saga system, but would be happy to learn. It's a d20 system, how hard could it be? But if you just don't want to continue after you take a break, I totally understand.

Saga is very similar to D20 Modern and that whole style of D&D 3.5ish stuff.

So if you've done D20 Modern, Saga should be no problem. I also agree about FFG Star Wars, it really is tough via PbP.
