Chapter 3: The Unbounded Wayfarer
Quig ducks under his station, then the ship doesn't blow up. He pretends he dropped a wrench in case someone was watching. He then climb back up, "I said hit-hit, not miss them! Hit them! He turns his attention now to the targeting systems and attempts to aid Keskodai, by providing modified scanning and auto lock system functions. He bangs away on the keys, "Shoot them and hit them! Shields down on their starboard side."

Chapter 3: The Unbounded Wayfarer
Zindfal gets back on the internal comms, trying to rally the crew to greater heights. The magical warrior regales the men and women with tales of valour and glory, and a cheer goes up from the crew. Quig likewise contributes to the efforts of others, streaming updated targeting data to the gunners in real-time.
Jalesh dodges the ship behind an asteroid, which shields it from raking fire from the pirates. He then guns the engines, turning hard and bringing the Loreseeker around an unexpected section of the orbiting rock, coming up behind their enemy.
A blazing wall of laser fire and high-speed kinetics blows through both ships. The forward shields of the Starfinder ship fail almost instantly despite the recent reinforcement, and meters of hull are ripped free. A console explodes at the Comms, sending a crewman to the floor missing part of his face. Emergency fire retardants spray from the ceiling, preventing a potentially catastrophic fire from consuming the ship.
But Keskodai and the crew give as good as they get. Both the coilgun and the forward laser cannon find their marks in the engines powering the Lawblight. Small localized explosions crop up, another disappointing hit. However, Quig at the sensors notices hard spikes in power accumulating, overwhelming the ability of the pirate ship to compensate and tamp down the electrical surges. In a moment everything goes out of control, and the power core rips itself apart! A cataclysmic eruption rips the pirate ship in half, sending everyone inside into the cold of space. The Lawblight is dead, vengeance served for the heartless slaying of the Unbounded Wayfarer.

Chapter 3: The Unbounded Wayfarer
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW!"
The scream of Quig over the com is a bit too loud and the speakers give a feed back.
That's before he's realized how much damage your own ship has taken.

Keskodai leans back, his mandibles in what is probably a smile.

Jalesh let's out a large breath of air he didn't know he was holding, and smiles with satisfaction. He opens up comms and says. "Excellent work men, we nailed those bastards hard!" After a slight pause he adds "Please confirm ship and crew status how are we doing?"

Chapter 3: The Unbounded Wayfarer
Quig settles down as Jalesh's voice comes over the com looking for a damage report. "Front shields are off line, and the hull has been broke-broke in the front, section 3 and 4 are sealed off. Bad-bad, cant' fix from here, need space port. Give me time I can get shields back up." Quig then sets to working on the repairs to get the forward shields back up.

Within the hour the shields have been restored to full power, and a damage assessment performed. Only one crewman was seriously injured - the one who was in front of the exploding comms terminal. He'll be in sickbay for quite a while, at least using technological methods of healing. The hull is damaged exactly as Quig described, but the breached sections have been successfully sealed off, and the ship is in no immediate danger of floundering. The comms system is a hash as well, making it unlikely that they will be sending interstellar signals anytime soon. However, the Drift engine was unharmed and the sensors have a lock on the Drift beacon that is the heart of Absalom Station. Getting back home should be no problem, assuming any other unexpected surprised don't crop up.
