Chapter 1: Caged

Ancient and powerful, the rulers of the Calabim posses a dark secret. Through fell ritual their lives can be prolonged at the expense of others, and by this act Alexis and Flauros have created a decadent vampiric aristocracy. Their battlefield success comes at a price they are only too happy to pay -- the blood of their human thralls, kept in miserable conditions to serve as little more than cattle. This secret would surely incense all honorable nations of Patria, but could even the strongest compare to the might of a vampire lord? Perhaps their enemies are willing to dismiss the ugly rumors as just that, to avoid the danger of sharing the fate of the sad Calabim humans.

You have done what you can here for the strange spider people. At first they were welcoming and happy with you, but the more time that passes the more they become insular and avoid you. You have taken what you can, supplies, food, gear, and you've traded what loot you could to them. So early one morning you decide its time to slip away; you have two goals in mind, catch up to the slavers and do what you can to free anyone else, but you also have a relic of the ancient times in hand and will need to find out more about it.

There are some places in Calabim where you might do a bit of research, various libraries, or wise folks of the various tribes. So with kind parting words to Arianna and the Queen you leave the sheltered web covered vale in hunt for the slaves (much to Mongo's approval). His blood pressure finally returns to normal once you are out of view.
Okay chapter end here, I'll start up a new one officially as soon as I can. Let's make sure loot is handled, you'll want to buy/barter for supplies and food, etc too
