Re: Chapter 2: Playing With Fire
Mongo is hurt from the slashes and the fire, but he doesn't really pay attention right way to the fact that they're outnumbered something like 5-to-1. Not exactly winning odds. Instead he gets angry, and lays about with his magical peg-leg, attempting to crush skulls and shatter ribs.

Morwen quickly reaches into her component pouch and, uttering a string of arcane words, holds aloft a piece of flint as she casts a pinch of silver dust into the air. The area before her is with a brilliant flash of silvery light.

Eyris glares at the next skeleton for a moment, and slashes at its head, then takes a step back to get some room between her and her enemies.

Burning Villagers: Round 2-3
Tolan is in bad shape, he moves back, "Hey... hey fellas?" He summons a wall of wind around himself to act as armor to keep the claws and swords of the skeletons at bay. It does nothing against the fire however.
Then Morwen and all her images shuffle back some, she calls out and a burst of power ripples out and three of the burning villagers explode into clouds of flame and smoke safely away from anyone else.
Eyris moves a bit, sizing up the enemy, she can see a weakness in its spine. So the blade sweeps and shatters the spine making it topple to the ground with a blast of heat once more. That death explosion is nearly worse than the rest of the thing's power.
Then the remaining 10 of them close in on the group. Tolan is beset, clawed and burned by the three around him. He is screaming out now, even as he tries to do something to aid himself he's overwhelmed by the fire and falters, then falls to the ground unconscious.
Morwin is attacked by a lone skeleton, but all it manages to do is wipe away a Mirror Image and get in close to her casting off its heat.
Mongo is then flanked, he's good at avoiding most of the blows, but takes a single burning strike against his back that he shrugs off.
At that same moment Eyris ducks and dodges, darts and ducks again avoiding the strikes of the enemy, but she's right in among the flames and that's enough to harm her.
Mongo, Morwen and Eyris, for poor Tolan is down now...

"Tolan!" Morwen calls out as her companion falls. "Damn it!" She wracks her mind for an idea, not wanting to slay the skeletons right next to the fallen. She quickly returns her attention to her own assailant, backpedals, and casts another burst of radiant energy.

Eyris is focused on the enemies surrounding her, and she has no time to find out what else is going on on the battlefield. Again, she waits for a second to study her target, then slashes at the skeleton the moment it begins its attack.

Burning Villagers: Round 2-3
Mongo turns around and bashes at the skeleton that stabbed him literally in the back. He is angry but confused, and is trying to find the rest of the group in the melee. Though sweat is dripping into his eyes, he can see Eyris near him fighting too. He sidesteps, moving closer.

Burning Villagers: Round 3-4
Morwen looks up at Tolan who's smoldering on the ground still. She steps and casts, the lone skeleton near to her explodes once more with a nova of radiance. That eliminates the skeletons in the center of the group now.
Eyris eyes a skeleton, swings, and manages to sweep her scimitar through the empty rib cage only nicking the bones, and lightly wounding it. She backs up against Mongo as the five flaming undead around them ready to pounce on them.
Morwen turns her gaze at the three around Tolan, who suddenly explode in a burst of holy light! The three skeletons explode in a bright white nova. The resulting explosion of fire from all three devestates the prone Tolan, and there is little hope he's survived that! She can just make out a armored figure along the road north of the group. Arms raised, a holy light on his hands.
Then the five skeletons around Mongo and Eyris close in. Mongo blocks and dodges a few strikes of scimitar and claws. Eyress to manages to duck and knocks burning hands to the side, until the last foe. That one manages to lands two burning claws right on her chest, each one rakes and scorches seriously wounding the half elf.

Mongo can see how wounded Eyris is. He may be a berserker, but anyone can see that the half-elf is wavering in her stance, and struggling to make connections. "Run, Eyris! Mongo can kill bone-men. Cannot raise you from the dead!" He keeps laying about with his club, crushing the skeletons to the ground.
