Three Days in the Boundary Hills: The Beast
Mongo looks sad that they can't be friends. He was freaked out about the spider people, but he isn't scared by wolves and dogs. As they depart, he gives a long and lonely goodbye wave.

Five Days in the Boundary Hills
The lupines lope off into the darkness, leaving you with some worries.
The rest of the night passes uneasily and you wake in the morning feeling better, Morwen especially, and are packed and ready to set out. So the trip west begins again, a few more days through the rolling hills. On the first day you come across a small clearing, and find signs of a fight. There is dried blood all about, scraps of armor and clothing, as well as some bloody patches of fur, but no corpses. A keen eye from Eyris located a few broken arrows as well. Clearly there was a fight here. That puts you on edge.
So it is with your guard up that you notice the smoke in the distance, a black pall that rises up in several places into the sky. Its the lingering and fading smoke of several large smoldering fires. All you know of the area suggests you are only a few miles from Grimdale, and that smoke is coming from Grimdale, the town you were heading too.

Five Days in the Boundary Hills
The barbarian cocks his head as they look at the smoke in the distance. "Is Grimdale a slaver town? Would the werewolves have attacked there? Or is this someone else?"

"It must be Grimdale. They're making a real big fire." Eyris says. "Seems strange to me. Let's find out, and find your friend."

"Not a slaver town," Morwen speaks up. "But they don't turn them away either."

Grimdale At Long Last
Mongo doesn't have any jokes or simple observations as they crest the hill and can look down on the town. His face hardens and his knuckles whiten as he sees what has been done here.

Grimdale At Long Last
"This wasn't me, I promise," Morwen says quietly and without humor. "I only burn those who deserve it."

Grimdale At Long Last
"Let's see if there are any survivors." Eyris says. "But keep your eyes open, maybe those who did this are also still here. It's still burning, cannot be more than a few hours that the fire started." She has her bow in hand, but no arrow notched, ... yet.
