Delay to accuse them of being shady appears to have been the wrong move! Knowing that their servant disguises have been blown, the two halflings go on the offensive, daggers appearing in their hands. They work in unison, darting low to either side of Astraea, making her fight on two fronts.

The first enemy starts stabbing, tying up the warpriests bastard sword, but not quite able to get close enough to do any damage. The same, however, cannot be said of the assassin on her opposite side. Seeing an opening, he shoves a dagger right to the hilt in her lower back, where gaps covered only by chain are necessary for movement in the heavy full plate. The blade punches deep, clearly damaging something vital. Astraea falls to the ground, her body in shock.

Seeing his guardian (and possible future patron) go down shocks the actual servant Imistos, and he cries out "Nooooooo!" He flies into a rage, charging his fellow halflings. He pulls out a blade from the pack of loot he was carrying for the group, and dives dagger first into the man. The assassin is slowed by needing to pull his own weapon out of Astraea's back, so the attack takes him high in the chest, possibly puncturing a lung!
Move Actions: They move 1N and 1S of Astraea.
Assassin 1: Attack = 17 + 2 (Flanking) = 19, Miss.
Assassin 2: Attack = 19 + 2 = 21, Hit (Possible Crit since they Crit on 19-20). Confirmation = 18 + 2 (Flanking) = 20, Crit Confirmed! Only because of that sweet flanking bonus.
- These guys are Rogues, so they have normal damage plus sneak attack (the second of which is NOT multiplied on a Crit). 12 Normal damage, 7 Sneak Attack damage = 19 total.

Imistos: Um ... the little guy gets a Nat 20 and a confirmation. And somehow did 9 damage to one of the assassins. Well then. Well done little NPC.

Astraea = -3/16 HP, Unconscious and 'Dying'
Assassin (North) = -9

When the halfling ask if the group are assassins Theodrix leans over, whispering on the sly, "Depends on who we are fighting I guess." With a wink he joins the conversation, but then everything goes to shit. Without much thought as the battle starts, except for the though of 'Oh my god they killes Astraea!' the man leaps to the attack, blades in hand. His longsword comes down at the wounded assassin hoping to end his threat.
Draw Longsword and +1Handax, move avoid AoO, attack single handed vs the wounded assassin (north)

Mercutio takes inspiration from the little's guys charge, and starts weaving in some words of praise, and maybe some little mockery.
Inspire Courage, now 4/10 used according to sheet counter.

Mercutio's inspiration song starts up again, trying to counter the shock of the warpriest going down with a dagger in her back. While Theodrix darts forward to engage the the assassins, Bertram also chances danger by moving and kneeling down next to Astraea, healing her to consciousness. Theodrix capitalizes on Imistos' raging charge, finishing off the first halfling killer.

For whatever reason, Dame Malphene Trant decides to run in as well. Perhaps you've impressed her with your bravery and valour. Perhaps she's just extra racist against halflings. Who knows? Regardless, she runs in and engages with the second assassin, slashing him across one arm, putting him on the defensive.

Astraea (on the ground, but conscious) and Aurelia ...
Mercutio: Inspire Courage (+1s)
Bertram: Move 1x NE. Cast CLW on Astraea for 6+2 (8) HP. Astraea awake, now at 5 HP.
Theodrix: Move 1x E. TWF versus Assassin North.
- Longsword = 9 (d20) + 3 + 1 (inspire) = 14, Miss.
- Handaxe = 15 (d20) + 3 + 1 (inspire) = 19, Hit. 6 (1d6) + 3 = 9 damage. Assassin North is dead!
Dame Malphene Trant: Move 4x SE. Attack Assassin South.
- Longsword = 18, Hit. 4 Damage.

Hit Points:
Astraea = 5/16 HP, Conscious, Prone on Ground
Assassin (North) = -18, DEAD
Assassin (South) = -4

Astraea's eyes flutter as she comes to consciousness. Adrenaline floods her veins and she stares up at one of her attackers. Prone, she eschews her long-bladed sword and swiftly draws a dagger, striking out at the remaining assassin.

The warpriest's blood pressure surges with the divine infusion of life bring her back to consciousness. She finds herself on the ground, with the dead body of one halfling to one side, and another fighting for its life on the other. Most anywhere else she can see if filled with boots. She is disoriented, but still has the presence of mind to try to defend herself against the assassins. Pulling her knife from her belt, Astraea tries to jam it into the foot of the last remaining enemy. The little guy pulls back his foot too fast to hit, but he is looking desperate as you all close in.

Aurelia ...
Melee Fighting while Prone = -4
Astraea: Attack with Dagger: 11(d20) + 3 (Dagger) +1 (Bard!!!) -4 (Prone) = 11, MIss.

The enchantress smiles as she blows a kiss towards the last halfling. "Be a dear and fall asleep, will you? We'll have LOTS to talk about..."
Use Slumber Hex on the last enemy. Will save DC15 to resist.

Evidently for the halfling killer, Aurelia really isn't his type and he stands unaffected by the blown kiss. What also isn't his type is what looks like a 6-on-1 smackdown. He makes apparent that he is late, late, for a very important date, throws his dagger as a distraction, and springs away. You can hear his boots pounding on the stairs going up to what is likely the surface.

Rifling through the dead assassin on the ground, you find that underneath the rags he actually had a pretty sweet sparkling chain shirt on. Around his neck is a pendant in the shape of a black dagger with a white circle in the blade. It's a rare one, and only Mercutio recognizes it as the (un)holy symbol of Thamir Gixx, a patron god of cutpurses, assassins, and really any halfling with an axe to grind that doesn't care if the means get bloody.

A rolled up piece of yellowed paper is shoved deep into a pocket. It reads:
Team Two,
Keep watch over Martella's stooges while we dispatch her Ladyship. They seem useless, but our contract specifies eliminating Lotheed AND anyone she is working with. If they're particularly noteworthy - say a Senator or Noble - keep them alive and we'll interrogate them along with Lotheed. Have your cell leader bring any such targets to the Dignified Repository.
- The Fantabulous Killer of the Brotherhood of Silence

With this intercepted communication, you no longer need to dart around town wildly to figure out where they're keeping your Patron. She's right there, in the Dignified Repository.
Halfling Killer, Will Save vs Slumber Hex - 22, Passed. No effect.
- Loot from fallen Killer that is worth taking: 1 Potion of Gaseous Form & 1 Mithral Chain Shirt (Size Small) Both up for grabs.

The assassin Withdraws and runs away. Combat over. When you're ready, I'll have you exit the underground and conclude Act 2.
