So, he began wandering the Outer Rim planets in search for redemption, but found only nightmares and depression leading to heavy usage of alcohol and drugs. He soon gave up on living and nearly died before he was rescued by a Wookiee pilot in need for a crew member that spoke basic.

Personality:
Doesn’t talk much. Dependable, smart, a little cynical and pessimistic, tired, and hard-headed. Knowledgeable about tactics, military equipment, and weapon systems. Well rounded and trained to handle most situations including starship piloting and gunnery. At a young age, he was quite naive which has lead him know to being heavy jaded about believing anything or in anyone.

21 BBY - Clone Wars
Mal’s parents met during the Clone Wars on Alderaan. Finis Verlaine was a member of the Republic Intelligence Agency stationed on Alderaan. Wynarise Suindan was the daughter of a high ranking general in the Alderaan Royal Guard who coordinated protection of the sector with Finis during the Clone Wars. A few years later, they married.

18 BBY (age 0) - Maxojomal born on Alderaan.
When the Republic became the Galactic Empire, Finis’ intelligence agency was reorganized and renamed the Imperial Security Bureau. His new mission was to remain embedded within Alderaan and report the known rebel activities. Always a loyalist, he took a cover as an intelligence officer in the Alderaan Royal Guard subordinate to his father-in-law.

1 BBY (age 17) - Life as an Imperial
Mal had never paid attention to the Rebellion or the ongoing conflicts within the galaxy. He was young and enjoying life on Alderaan.

His father was promoted within the Imperial Naval Intelligence Agency and restationed in Coruscant. The Empire believed his cover was jeopardized and informed him that his job on Alderaan was complete. When he told Wynarise they were moving to Galactic City, she realized what she had suspected all this time--Finis was an Imperial spy. After a heated argument, Finis took Mal and boarded a transport ship bound for Coruscant. Wynarise remained on Alderaan and informed the local rebellion commanders of her husband’s deception.

0 ABY (age 18) - The Disaster of Alderaan
With help from his father’s Imperial influence, Mal was quickly accepted to the Galactic Empire controlled University of Bar’leth. His father was ordered to report to the Death Star to brief high ranking admirals. Shortly after Mal arrived at the university, Alderaan and the Death Star were destroyed. To his knowledge, his family and friends were killed in the explosion of the Death Star and destruction of Alderaan. Believing the reports that rebel terrorists killed his parents, Mal quickly enlists in the Imperial Army.

1 ABY (age 19) TK-8951
Mal was sent to the Imperial Academy and subjected to rigorous training programs. Imperial cadet Mal became TK-8951. He excelled as a cadet and was later sent to special operations training to become a Stormtrooper Commando.

2 ABY - (age 20) Life as a Stormtrooper
TK-8951 was stationed in the city of Binjai-Tin on Nag Ubdur (Outer Rim Territories, Ubdur system). The Stormtrooper Corps oversees the Galactic Empire strip-mining the world for zersium.

4 ABY - (age 22) The first Battle of Nag Ubdur
New Republic attempted to liberate the world, but was met with an increasingly-desperate Imperial defense. His unit took many loses, but the Empire held control of the planet and its resources. TK-8951 is promoted to squad leader.

5 ABY - (age 23) - Massacre of Binjai-Tin
Imperial forces retreating from the advancing New Republic force arrives on Nag Ubdur to booster the size of the local Stormtrooper Corps. Once they arrive, all forces are ordered to slaughter the population of Binjai-Tin. However, New Republic forces soon arrive and takes back control of Nag Ubdur and most Outer Rim planets.

When Squad Leader TK-8951 was ordered to send his squad out to kill civilians in a suicide mission, he became concerned. The Tie-Fighter squadrons were being ordered to crash into Rebel ships in sucide missions.

Mal believed enforcing Imperial laws and fighting rebel terrorists were the right thing to do for the galaxy. However, his began to see through the Imperial misinformation campaign fed to him over the years. When he refused the order calling it an unlawful order, he was stripped of his armor and weapons, beaten, and left to die in the Imperial brig.

When the Imperial forces were defeated, the rebellion released the prisoners believing they were wrongly imprisoned including Mal. Since the locals never saw him without a helmet, they didn’t recognize him. He assisted in the post-battle cleanup and witnessed countless deaths and destruction--which haunted him in nightmares as he believed he was responsible.

5 ABY - 9 ABY (age 23 - 27) The Wander Years
Mal is disillusioned with his past and coming to grips with his life choices that he’s made over the last five years. So, he began wandering the Outer Rim planets in search for redemption, but found only nightmares and depression leading to heavy usage of alcohol and drugs. He soon gave up on living and nearly died before he was rescued by a Wookiee pilot in need for a crew member that spoke basic.

Since then, Mal has traveled the Outer Rim slowly began recovering from his vices. Within the ship’s new crew, Mal has kept his past hidden and doesn’t share much insights into his former life. To others, his concerns (or maybe paranoia) over both Empire remnants and New Republic members keeps his fingers on his trigger and out of the spotlight.

9 ABY (age 27) - Current game begins

Name: Chakossa ("Chack")
Template: Wookie First Mate
Height: 2.2m
Weight: 130kg
Age: 45
Race: Wookiee
Language: Shyriiwook, Basic (can not pronounce Basic)

Appearance: Scruffy Black Hair with some white stripes

Chakossa, a Wookiee with thick black hair, got his hands on an old YT-2660 freighter, the "Nomad Wyaaaaa" (Nomad+Shyriiwook for "Hello"), and (being stubborn) he decided to become a trader captain. He soon found out that his stubborn way, his inability to speak basic and his low social skills lost him most contracts, so he decided to get in a partner who (could speak basic, had at least some social skills, was a decent gunner, ...). He found Mal Verlaine in a bar on an asteroid mining station in the Outer Rim. Since then, they have been plowing the Outer Rim space routes, just barely getting by.
Chakossa was trained as a pilot on Kashyyk, piloting human and Wookiee ships at Kashyyk spaceport. Soon after, he was enslaved along with his parents, and sold to a planetary governor. His parents were soon sold to someone off planet, and Chak has never been able to track them down (they are probably dead by now). As soon as he was able to, Governor Trevelian trained him to be a pit fighter, and Chack learned well and fast, and could beat many opponents. Trevelian enjoyed the fights, but after a few years, grew tired of Chack. He planned to sell him to the Tattooine Hutts and had already arranged transport. He was supposed to be transported to Tattooine by a bounty hunter named Carlin Mor. On the ship, while in hyperspace, he broke free from his shackles and killed the bounty hunter and his co-pilot and ejected their bodies in an escape pod. He dropped out of hyperspace and sold the cargo in some faraway spaceport. With the money, he got new ID for the ship. Chack decided to be a freighter pilot, so he might find some rumors about his parents....

Character Name: Muzhy Zilvando
Race: Devaronian
Template: Failed Jedi
Age: 45 years
Languages: Basic, Devaronian, Huttese
Description: Muzhy is a middle-aged Devaronian male, though his experiences have left him looking older than his years. He dresses in a long leather coat, designed to intimidate people. His outward demeanor is somewhat rough and bitter, but underneath he desperately wants to help people and make the Galaxy a better place, feeling guilty about the years of Imperial rule he spent in hiding.

Backstory
Muzhy was raised as a Jedi student in the Old Republic, serving as a padawan to Master Assok, a Mon Calamari Jedi, during the Clone Wars. When Order 66 was initiated, he and Assok were at a meeting of Jedi and clone troopers planning strategy. The carnage was horrifying. Assok ordered Muzhy to run. Muzhy ran—and kept on running.

When he realized the enormity of what had happened, Muzhy went into hiding, burying his identity as a Jedi. He tried to build a new life for himself, drawing on his Jedi training to work as a bodyguard. As he saw the horrors of the Empire, Muzhy’s sense of survivor’s guilt was compounded by the sense that he ought to do something to challenge the Empire, but being too scared to act. He never got rid of his lightsaber, but he didn’t use it, learning to use his fists and a blaster instead. After a while, he even began suppressing the Force powers he had been trained in, eroding his knowledge of them. Life as a bodyguard under the Empire wasn’t easy, and Muzhy made some poor judgment calls and he ended up increasingly in debt to unsavory underworld figures. As a result, he frequently found himself working for some unsavory characters. To top it all off, he regularly had nightmares about the assassination of his master and the other Jedi that he witnessed. He started drinking heavily to erase the sense of guilt and to blot out the nightmares.

When the Rebellion overthrew the Empire and established the New Republic, Muzhy felt some weight lifted from his shoulders. Surely, he thought, the New Republic would come and set things right. Muzhy was working for Sazzan Sahng, a notorious Bothan slaver, something that disgusted him. He waited and waited for the New Republic to come set the slaves free and arrest his employer. And then he realized that the New Republic was stretched too thin, that they weren’t coming, and if he wanted to see the slaves free, he would have to do something himself. So he freed the slaves and in the ensuing fighting killed the person he had been hired to protect.

Figuring his career as a bodyguard was shot, he instead hired himself out as security on a transport. The rumors of the restoration of the Jedi have caused him to break out his lightsaber again and begin relearning the Force powers he once knew. He also swore off drink—which means the nightmares have come back. He would like to chase down the rumors of the new Jedi order, but is too ashamed to do so. He feels like he needs to redeem himself first, so he is particularly interested in chasing down Jedi artifacts and is willing to risk himself to protect the innocent.

Name: Naomi Vas
Template: Custom (Togruta Force Sensitive)
Height: 1.8m
Weight: 68kg
Age: 25
Race: Togruta
Language: Basic, Togruti, Shyriiwook (understand only)

Physical Description and Personality:

Naomi has a slim build and stands at an average height. Her coloring is a golden hue with grey and dark blue lekku and montrals. She wears nondescript clothing and tries not to stand out too much lest others take notice of her. Still, she has a nice smile and sometimes cannot resist flashing her eyes at some she takes an interest in. She hasn't formed any lasting relationships, save perhaps for the crew she currently belongs to, because she has trouble trusting others.

Naomi has been running for what feels like a very long time. Her father, who was a Jedi Padawan when the Republic fell, taught her as much as he dared of the Force, but was eventually slain by Jedi hunters. Naomi has spent the last ten years on the run, living hand-to-mouth, and trying to put her talents for use while staying one step ahead of the Empire. She's worked for the Rebellion as a scout a few times, but could never fully commit. Now with the destruction of the second Death Star and rumors of a Jedi fighting for the Rebellion, Naomi has decided that she wants to be trained as a Jedi and follow in her father's footsteps, but she is torn between this and the urge to stay unnoticed by the galaxy at large.

Image

Background:

Kind and curious from a young age, Naomi Vas always wanted to see what wonders the galaxy held. Sadly, she got her wish with the death of her father, Noman Vos, who had been a Padawan when the Republic fell and the clone troops turned upon their Jedi commanders. Noman's own master had been slain by a Jedi-turned-inquisitor, but before he became one with the Force, made his Padawan promise that he would work to see the Jedi rise again. Noman Vos went into hiding on Kiros and for many years lived as a hermit. The Togruta population there would not leave him alone, however, or perhaps he grew tired of living by himself, as Togruta are a social people. For a time the war was forgotten and Noman married a woman named Alara Ri who gave birth to their daughter, Naomi.

The Empire did not leave them alone, however, and a human merchant and Imperial sympathizer gave them away. Noman took his daughter and fled, hoping that by leaving they would spare his wife, Alara, and the others left behind. The two tried to lose themselves on the Smuggler's Moon of Nar Shaddaa, but Noman was finally cornered and slain by stormtroopers in a fericious battle. Naomi took up her father's lightsaber and slew the remaining troopers, but her father made her promise that she would stay alive in hopes that the Jedi might rise again. Since then, Naomi has been on the run and fallen in with some of the seedier elements of society. What has become of her mother, she doesn't know, as she has not tried to make contact in the ten years she's been gone. She does know that the Empire visited some form of retribution on the community there on Kiros, and she's assumed the worst. She carries this with her along with a feeling of guilt that she could not save her father, ever since.

Objectives:

Naomi has been running for what feels like a very long time. - The Dark Times
Djoranth was a nobody born to a prostitute on Nar Shadaa, an ultimately neglectful parent who decided she no longer had time for him. She sold him to a Hutt, who became impatient with Djoranth for being "too temperamental". Djoranth turned out to be less than the Hutt bargained for, and a biter, and he was quickly pawned off on a Weequay crook, Progus, who had his own designs for the boy. He had ways to make the kid docile, and immediately set to straightening him out before putting him to work, starting with small marks, such as: distracting a woman with innocent flattery and holding her attention while Progus lifted her purse; or, breaking something "by accident" in any establishment to draw attention away from Progus. After a few standard months of doing this, Progus graduated Djoranth to learning how to program, talk to droids, and unlock doors to get into guarded areas. Progus didn't even know much about any of it. He merely taught the kid a little of what he knew to get him started, and told him to get good at it. He also taught the boy some of his own street magic though - how to "see true", as he explained it - to prep for deploying the boy on heists, where he'd go in alone whilst Progus remained uncompromised and remotely guide him.
- The New Republic
Progus and Djoranth made quite a team, until on just another day in their scummy city, the former was shot and killed in the street. Nobody did anything about it, and the killer got away, leaving the urchin alone and afraid and wondering why it happened. He focused on staying alive until years later in his adolescence, that fear turned to anger, and Djoranth vowed to find the killer and make them pay for what they did. The only information he had on the killer was that that he was some lizard person - which he learned was a Trandoshan - with a cyber prosthetic arm, who fired a repeating blaster pistol.
- Episode III: The Astray
Djoranth returned to the Hutt to work. He didn't have to say why he wanted money; the Hutt was a smart slug. He knew what Djoranth was after, and negotiated well below what the job demanded with the goal of milk him as much as he could before the boy left Nar Shadaa. But Djoranth didn't want money. He could smuggle himself onto a transport whenever he wanted and hop from system to system. No, he just wanted to stick it to the jawa, and he did so by making off with the prized gem belonging to a rival Hutt in the Ocean's 11 caper planned by the former, whilst foisting plenty of credits for hopping transports the legal way (ironically). Both of the Hutts were furious, but the punk's favorite part was that he had no idea what became of the gem, after he chucked it out an airlock along the Randon Run, still laughing about it today...
