Glirion switches to a more aggressive stance as well and cannot help but smile at the hobbit song.

Ruins of Men and Trolls: Round 2
Gerwald staggers to his feet limping slightly. As the battle rages around him he searches the ground for his weapon and gathers himself for the next round of attack. Planting his feet firmly, he prepares to thrust his great spear at the raging beast.

Varuthil is not impressed, so she fires another arrow into the leg of the Stone Troll. The arrow pierces deeply into the thick hide and this time it roars and snaps the shaft off with a sweep of its mit.
Glirion joins Finn and stabs with spear, but the muck and mud, the downed tree, its all hard to move about and he straight up misses the great beast who jumps over the large downed tree snapping off a heavy branch as it moves.
Gerwald is up on his feet and Hild pulls him back to the camp where he grabs up his Great Spear, ready now to join the fight.
That's when the stone troll brings its smaller, yet still huge, tree club down into Finn's side. The blow crashes down, "No more singing!" it bellows as Finn can't move clear fast enough. The blow is brutal, but not fatal. He's driven a foot down into the mud, his boots fills up with mud, his mouth with blood. He's staggering and weary now from the impact and the Lake-man knows he can't take a second blow like that.
Your group, all of you, fight on...

Finn allows the mud to pull him in as he takes the blow, softening the pain and damage it could do.

Varuthil says nothing, but knocks another arrow, aims it at the troll with cold eyes, and looses it.

Gerwald having mostly composed himself, now grabs his spear. He has been told that this is a giant-slaying spear and now he intends to find out if it lives up to that reputation.

Ruins of Men and Trolls: Round 3-4
Glirion, a bowman, and not much of a spearman, strikes out, he nearly misses but a little extra effort puts the blade of his spear in a position to slice into the side of the great troll drawing a little blood.
Then an arrow lodges itself in the chest of the beast, right where the heartless beast's heart should be. Its a hell of a shot, but the arrow doesn't punch deeply enough in the thick hide of the mud covered stone troll. Still, the great olog howls out in pain now, and perhaps it is flagging?
Gerwald joins the fight, flanking spears with Glirion and he stabs into the leg of the beast, just under the buttock hoping to bring it down. The blow is good, but not good enough and the creature, filled with hate turns back on Gerwald once more with his half tree sized club. "Noooo!"
It screams and clubs into Gerwald again cracking three ribs and sending Gerwald tumbling four feet to the left covering him now completely in the mud of the marsh. He's barely awake, exhausted and weary, he can't take another hit... in fact he's lucky at this point that the blood in his mouth is only incidental and not fatal.
Your small company, suffering more and more each moment that passes....

Once more, the golden-haired elf strikes at the troll with his spear. He misses standing at range with his bow in his hands, but need drives his actions.
