A well-deserved rest

The zombies at the Tomb of Khi Osque were quite a challenge, and you barely beat them. Luckily, the actual occupant of the Tomb, the ancient priest Khi Osque stayed dead and did not rise. But you were badly wounded. On the other hand, the peasants at the nearby village were rather thankful for saving their village and so they gave you some good fresh bread, some apple cider and cheese. And you got some really nice jewelry out of the tomb, probably worth a lot.

You decided to spend some of your gold at the famous healing baths in the nearby town of Amanad, and have just arrived.

Being rich, you pass the public outdoor bath pond, where men and women are bathing, and some whores are looking for clients. A bored overseer is supposed to see to it that nothing gets out of hand, and sometimes he tells some people to stop what they are doing and behave. You cross the large open square north of the pond and see the large official bathhouse, where people with money can bathe in more luxury. There are some cheap guesthouses as well, but you decide to head straight for the main bathhouse.
Welcome to Amanad! Could you post a short description and also fill in some background in the OOC section. Sorry it took so long.

A well-deserved rest

Merisiel is an elven woman with white-blonde hair, dressed in practical clothes and studded leather armor. She is typically quiet and reserved around others, even those she knows well. To the others, she says, "Well, there's no point in having money if you don't spend it. I think we're entitled to reward ourselves a bit."

Shoulders slumped, walking with a limp, Carver the Butcher is a mostly orc half orc who looks up at Merisiel. "Money should be saved, and spent on useful things, investments, cattle, good food, not wasted." He catches sight of one of the whores, "Or redheaded elven whores, those are nice too." He pauses, and adjusts his boot again, the bandage there is bothering him. He took a nasty wound on his toes, a legless zoombie bit him in the foot during the last fight and it hasn't healed up right yet.

"I'll be happy to get washed up and healed up and then count my money." The Butcher lost his deli in the attack, he was a 'local' of the place that the zombies assaulted and his business was burned to the ground. Hes a good fighter, but a better chef and butcher, but he's homeless now, so for the moment he's joining the group till he's on his feet again.

Fumbus is a strange-looking fellow, even for a goblin. His clothes look mostly scavenged, open skin showing, and the whole outfit looking like it should be falling apart with every step. Its continued structural integrity is a miracle. He created his goggles, correcting some nearsightedness. One leg is heavily bandaged all the way from the knee up to the hip, leaving him with a scuttling limp for now. "Exciting adventure, new friends." He smiles, showing off his sharp fang-like teeth. "I usually do the eating. Was strange for something else to try to take a bite out of tasty Fumbus here."

Merisiel said, "Oh, I've nothing against investing your money. But, as you know all too well, that investment can be burned down. Plan for the future, sure, but make sure to enjoy yourself today, because you don't know what the future will bring." After a moment, in a more melancholy tone, she adds, "Well, death, you can be certain the future brings that, even if you don't know when." She glances at the orc and goblin thinking death was much more likely to find them soon, short-lived as their races were, than it was her.

A well-deserved rest

The three enter the main building where some well equipped guards, well, guard the entrance. "Welcome to Amanad! I hope you have a great time here and will get a well-deserved rest." The guard captain says politely, surprisingly not frowning at the nonhumans. "This is a weapon free zone. You will have to put all your weapons into a locker here in this room. I will show you the way." The captain indicates a doorway to the right. Out from ahead, thick steamy clouds come from a larger room, and you can all feel the warmth as you start to sweat.

Merisiel makes a face at the talk of not being allowed weapons, though she ought not to be surprised and, abstractly, it makes sense. She shrugs and follows behind the guard. If she can though, she will smuggle in a dagger underneath a towel--she does not feel unarmed among strangers.

Whne Meriseil callously and with with no regards for Carver's feelings just brings up that his life's work was burned to the ground grumbles to himself, Elven Bitch. He turns away from her, and walks closer to the goblin, he gets along better with the short Fumbus anyhow, even if he's sort of ridiculous at times. He doesn't want to talk about it, but she keeps bringing it up, so he keeps his distance from the woman.

Carver isn't used to carrying weapons around, so he happily puts what he has away. Its a nice relief, to be disarmed, to know the town guards are on the job. He's a butcher, not a warrior, and being just a civilian again feels nice. "Hot in here, but I guess that's the point." He heads in happy to be able to forget all his troubles and just melts into the bath's and what they offer.

Fumbus' nose crinkles in dislike, but he calmly hands off his dogslicer, the blade looking especially crude next to the regular weapons in their possession. He conveniently forgets to hand over all of his flasks. They look more or less like any other potion, and adventurers need to get healed up after all. "There. Your ankles are now safe from my blade." He harrumphs, then makes to continue on.

As Carver, Merisiel and Fumbus place their weapons in lockers and get their keys, Merisiel, as an experienced smuggler, slides her dagger into her boot just as Fumbus is talking with the guards, the perfect moment, and thus nobody notices the blade.

Then the heroes move further into the bath house. In a great hall, you can see a fat man and an elderly woman lying on couches having pretty girls giving them a massage. A dozen men and women are in the round pool, and small wooden boards, are floating around between them carrying glasses of wine, bottles and fried chicken pieces. In the foggy air you can also see a gallery, and a tall woman and a short man are observing what is happening. Everyone is dressed sparingly in loincloths and (for the women) tops. To the left, a barber is working on a man, in the back there is a goblin using a long stick to manouver the floating boards towards him, and putting new wine bottles and chicken on them. Everything is steamy and hot.
A fat man comes out of the pool and says: "Welcome to Amanad! I am the bath master. My name is Bordo."
Hide dagger:
Stealth vs Perception
Stealth (with "experienced smuggler" trait: 16+4=20
Perception: 6+0=6
It's 10 or more over the target number, so it's acritical success.
