Act II Scene I: Aftermath of the Battle of Axanar

Stardate 1/9407. The Federation has enjoyed a century of relative peace within its borders. The long and devastating war against the Romulan Star Empire is all but forgotten and the Federation’s border with them remains tense, but stable. The Klingons remain silent as well, perhaps still engrossed in a conflict with the unknown enemy on the far side of their empire. The Federation’s peace-time focus is now on research and exploration, although Tellarites and Andorians argue for a stronger navy of gunships and frigates. The compromise is the new Constitution Class Cruiser. Equipped with the most advanced weaponry and home to state-of-the-art scientific research and medical facilities, these debutants of the fleet can operate for years beyond the logistical support of star bases. It is the dream of every starry-eyed Star Fleet recruit to serve on these ships.

"It would be easier to use the air in our helmets than to ask the ship for permission again."

"Alright, you start on the mayday. 'Klingon warriors onboard' or something. Short, to the point, eventually will be understood through the static. I'm going to disconnect the battery powering the life support. And steal the cabling, so they can't just reconnect it if they've got a clever engineer with them. Then we run like blazes." He looks at the security team with them. "Anybody else got any other ideas? Ways to slow them down? Dealing with an enemy boarding party in an abandoned, damaged ship is a bit beyond what the Academy courses covered."

Zea gets on the comm right away and starts a looping message. "Mayday, Klingon war party on board."

She gets her helmet next.

Campeador takes position over by the entrance to the bridge. He spares a look down the main corridor, exposing his head and half his body. He quickly pulls back as two angry red beams flash past him and explode near the main view screen. As the other security personnel scramble to reenforce his position, he speaks in a commanding voice:

“Don’t return fire! They’re still out of range, but they won’t be for long. They’re coming this way. Four. Looks like they have at least two guns, but they want to get in close. They’re all carrying an assortment of bladed, spikey things.”

Zea starts from the blast. "Alik, I think it's now or never." She looks for the life support's cabling, if exposed.

"Yeah, I think you're right! Time to disable this whole thing, then run like blazes. I don't want to get in a firefight with a Klingon, let alone give them a chance to hack my limbs off. I'm already down one leg - not interested in losing more!"
Alright, time to shut down this whole damn ship again. :D Then steal the cabling or whatever else would be needed for them to try to get it up and going again, and run run run!

Alik calls out “Helmets on!” and everyone complies. He moves to the Helmsman’s computer console and opens a cargo bay door—the same cargo bay the Klingons had been stuck in for the past 20 hours—(how they survived the continually-degrading life support conditions will forever be a mystery). He then goes over to the portable warp generator and decouples the powerline connecting the generator to the ship’s power system.

In the minute or so that it takes Alik to complete these tasks, the three-man security detail exchange fire with the Klingons. Campeador orders a volley of fire from their hand lasers when he estimates the Klingons are in range. This seems to slow the advance and the two sides exchange another round of fire. One security guard is grazed by a disruptor beam. Before Cadet Drennan can reach the security guard to ascertain the extent of his wounds or the damage to his suit, the lights go out and everything is plunged into total darkness.

As Alik disengages the powerline, the ship falls back into the darkness the team experienced when they first beamed aboard. With the power system completely gone, the containment shield over the cargo bay Alik opened is gone and the vacuum of space invades the ship. With every door aboard ship open due to the entry of the salvage codes, the atmospheric gases over the entire ship are vented out into space through the open cargo bay. Within the helmets of your enviro-suits, the loss of pressure sounds like a distant roar. For Alik, the sound is almost the same as when they opened the shuttle bay doors back on Calsa to catch cadet Weathers in atmospheric free-fall.

You feel a tug toward the door exiting the bridge as the atmosphere of the bridge escapes with the force of a hurricane.
Both of you need to make a raw STR roll or a DEX and Zero-G Operations roll, whichever is higher.

Alik tries to catch on to the nearest chair or console, attempting to either wedge himself into place, or at least make it harder to blow him out the door.
Dex 70, Zero-G 17. Result = 34.

Having moved partway towards the injured colleague in the commotion, Zea frantically grabs at one of the stationary consoles, but her hands slip and she is caught in the vacuum of space.
Strength 52. Result: 69 (nice)

The hurricane forces only last for a few moments. Everyone is able to grab ahold of something and hang on, except for the cadet doctor and the injured security guardsman. Once the pressure equalizes to vacuum, the pulling force stops and Alik finds himself in darkness and zero-G.

Zea feels her grip fail, then the next moments are a disorienting blur as she is pulled along toward the open cargo bay. Everything lacking the mass to withstand the force of the escaping gasses is pulled along as well: documents, small devices, potted plants, wall art, bedding, everything of a certain mass or smaller joins Zea in a large heap that is spewed out into open space. Zea ricochets off floors, ceilings, and walls. She feels someone grab her knee and is startled to see what she presumes to be a Klingon. The Klingon’s grip is powerful and she prepares to grapple for her life in zero-G.
Since Alik made his initial roll when powering the ship up, he automatically makes the roll to do it again in similar circumstances. Of course, that is only if or when he wants to turn the power back on. He will have to make declarations of what he intends to do when he notices the missing team members.

Zea needs to make a Dex and Personal Combat Unarmed roll to fight off the Klingon, she needs to make a raw Luck roll too.
