As long as you turn it off in ingame posts like Bren does...
I'm one of the people who doesn't like big sigs, by the way

I'm considering something with the heigth of 70 pixels, maybe even less. If if doesn't work I can remove it anyway.

I think turning it off ingame defeats the purpose he was looking for. The point would be that you'd see who he was posting for by his signature. If he turns it off, what's the point :)paradoxa wrote:As long as you turn it off in ingame posts like Bren does...

Height I would say no taller than Bren's that's a decent height, any larger and it can be too big, even for folks like me who don't have any problem with them.

Not sure Hayabusa was going to go with only a single PC image, especially since when the signature is changed, the new signature shows up on ALL previous posts (user's signature isn't stored with the post text). Sounded to me like it was going to be a medley of all tokens for all of his PCs. Nifty idea.
Yes, images are allowed in signatures, though there are size limits.
I agree with paradoxa (obviously). Signature images in IC threads really breaks up the flow of posts. Text-based signatures do too, but to a much lesser extent (they almost fade into the post separators for me... but not quite).

I never thought small sig images did anything but denote where one person stopped and another started.

Yeah, I find that true for small images... Mine isn't all that small though.

Its not big either.
Some sites I'm on people have them 4 times that size...the banners on the L5rR site are alot. Everyone has them. Mine is similar to this, depending on the site.
Then a bunch of text here!

Yeah, that's what I'm familiar with for sig blocks from other forums too. Way more images in the sig than the majority of posts.

New Suggestion:
I submit this suggestion with the complete understanding that time is money, and that "people have done without it for years".
How about a left sidebar 'widget" for favorited threads?
Now that I know how to "favorite" things... It'd be really cool to have a list of the 10 most recent threads that have updated since my last visit. As the 11th item on the list, a link to the favorites page that sends me straight to my favorited threads page.
This could slot in as part of the member info block , or over it, or under it.
If real estate is at a premium, then I'd dump the membership and "people online" stuff out of the member info block.
Yes, it's important to know who's on, and who has joined recently, but I've got the "Who Is Where" block for that.
Let the opening fusillade begin!
