Chapter 2C: Sanctuary

After Order 66, few Jedi dare to venture outside the shadows—rumors of the dark and terrible Darth Vader haunting even their waking moments. Yet, some Jedi find this life of fear unbearable. The Empire is always watching, and Vader himself is eager to confront any Jedi that might bring him closer to the whereabouts of his betrayer, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Seeing the clones doesn't cause nearby the same response from Ashara. to her, they're just faceless troops to fight a war that she doesn't think shoul've happened. That doesn't mean that she hates them, but she doesn't hesitate either. From behind a bulkhead, Ashara aims her energy bow, and goes after the clone group that isn't engaged with Granite. She doesn't give off any quip or do anything else to draw extra attention. Just focusing, and then attacking the group that is too slow to react!
Maneuver: Use "Marked For Death" She commits one <F>. Add 2 adv to combat checks against the target. Can't use this talent until the target is down.

Attack the uninjured clone trooper MG using energy bow. Quick Strike talent adds an extra <B> to checks against targets that haven't acted yet.
Energy bow (crit rating 2): YGGGB vs PS with 2 free adv. Will use any crits to kill off a member of the MG.

Man: Marked for Death - add 2 adv, can't reuse this talent until the target is incapacitated
Act: atk

Quick Strike: +1 boost
skill: 1y 2g

difficulty: short range 1p
cover: +1 setback

total: 1y 2g 1b 1p 1s
result: 1 success, 2 adv (Marked for Death), 1adv

dmg: 8+1 = 9
soak 5 vs pierce 4 = 9-1 = 8 dmg

MG wounds: 15-8=7
Spend 2 adv for a crit, kills 1 CT, 7-5=2
Spend 1 adv for boosting granite

Ashara's fires her energy bow from her mostly hidden location using the corner of the bulkhead for cover. Her first shot hits a Clone Trooper. Before that Trooper's body has hit the floor, she releases a second and third shot. Her second shot drops another Trooper and her third shot catches the last Trooper as he tries to duck. The last Trooper is severely wounded, but still standing.

Man: aim
Act: atk

aim: +1 boost
skill: 3g

difficulty: short range 1p
cover: +1 setback

total: 3g 1b 1p 1s
result: 3 successes

dmg: 10+3=13

soak 2 vs pierce 1 = 13 -1 = 12 wounds
Crit 0: Minor Nick: The target suffers 1 strain.

Seeing the two Troopers of his squad taken down by an archer, the wounded Trooper looks around the corner and fires at Ashara. Aiming his heavy blaster rifle, he pulls the trigger and a red bolt flies through the corridor hitting Ashara square in the chest. Her armor takes a hit and it's unable to prevent the blast's impact. The heavy blaster rifle's bolt is just too much for her armor to absorb, and she falls to the floor incapacitated.

Granite (setback on next check, boost from Ashara on next check, weapon on ground)
Ashara (in cover, incapacitated) -1/11W 12/13S
Tan

CT MG 1 = 15 - 12 = 3 (2 down, 1 alive)
CT MG 2 = 15 - 8 - crit = 2 (2 down, 1 alive)

Next round, so init = Heroes, Clones, Heroes, Clones, Heroes

The sounds of Jedi Master Tan's boots can be heard coming from the cockpit. As he draws closer, he watches Ashara fall to the ground. "Ashara!" the elder Togruta cries out as he rushes towards the battle.

Tan will go last, Ashara is out, so Granite
Jedi Knight Granite ...

The Knight isn't particularly bothered by his pike getting knocked out of his hands. Rather than taking the time to bend down and get it back, he instead steps in close. His mechanical right arm starts a high-pitched whining as capacitors charge and his hand reforms into a wider block of metal. A second later he drives it hard towards the gut of the remaining Trooper, trying to knock him out instead of cutting him in half as his lightsaber would have done.
It's nice having the same Dice Pool for all my attacks (lightsaber/melee/brawl). Aim at Group 1. Attack with Repulsor Fist. 2Y + 2G + 2B + 2P + 1S, base damage 8, Stun Setting (trying to NOT kill them unnecessarily). If somehow the damage doesn't finish them off but I get Advantages, priority is Concussive. If the damage is enough, Advantages go to Master Tan.

man: aim +1 boost
act: atk rep fist

skill: 2y 2g
boost from ashara: +1 boost
setback from threat: +1 setback

total: 2y 2g 2b 2p 1s
result: 4 advantage

waiting for how to spend the adv before continuing with troopers then Divak Tan's turn

Spend 3 adv: terminal 10 dmg
Spend 1 adv: Boost Divak's action

dmg: 10 dmg
Granite: soak 7 = 3 dmg
Trooper: soak 5 = 5 dmg, dead
Jedi Knight Granite's fist misses the Trooper, or perhaps he was aiming, and hits a control panel near the pair. The control panel explodes causing wounds to both the Jedi and Trooper near it. Granite's armor absorbs much of the blast, but the Trooper isn't as fortunate as he falls to the floor.

Granite (weapon on ground) 13/16W 13/13S
Ashara (in cover, incapacitated) -1/11W 12/13S
Tan

CT MG 2 = 15 - 8 - crit = 2 (2 down, 1 alive)

Man: aim
Act: atk

aim: +1 boost
skill: 3g

difficulty: short range 1p
def: 1 ranged = 1 setback

total: 3g 1b 1p 1s
results: 1 failure, 2 advantages

spend 2 adv: A nearby power conduit discharges into the target character, who must succeed at an Average (2 purple) Resilience check or be staggered for one round; the character is disoriented for one round for each threat generated.

Granite Resilience check
skill: 4g
difficulty: 2p
total: 4g 2p
results: 5 success

The last remaining Clone Trooper sees Ashara down and instead turns to take aim at Jedi Knight Granite. Despite being only a couple meters away, his shot goes wide hitting a nearby power conduit. The power conduit discharges sending sparks all over the Jedi, and he is able to shield himself from the sparks causing him to become distracted or disoriented.

Man: move
Act: Use the Force, Divak

Force Power Check: 4 force die
Move + ranged atk (discipline skill): 3y 1g
difficulty: short range 1p
total: 4f 3y 1g 1p
results: 5 success, 2 advantage, 2 light, 4 dark

1 Light pip = Move basic
1 Light pip = Upgrade silhouette 0 to 1 (human)
dmg: 10 x silhouette (1) = 10

soak: 5
final dmg: 10-5 = 5

Master Tan turns the corner and hurries over to Ashara's position. As he walks past the corridor, he turns to see the sole remaining Clone Trooper. Extending his hand outwards, he calls on the force and the Trooper goes flying backwards hitting the ship's bulkhead and then collapses to the deck.

combat over

Taking a knee, Jedi Master Tan pulls a stimpack out of his belt. He then injects the needle into Ashara's shoulder. The stimpack's autoinjector triggers sending bacta, antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-inflammatory medications which revives the fallen former-padawan.

Granite 3 wounds, 16 max; 0 strain
Ashara 7 wounds, 11 max; 1 strain, 13 max; 1 crit (1p) wound

Ashara opens her eyes, gasping in pain. Holding her chest, she tries to sit up. "Ow ow ow ow...why didn't I learn how to reflect blaster bolts before I left the Jedi order...ow ow ow..."

She looks around, relieves the enemies are all down. "Looks like we're good to go. Thanks for the assists Granite, Master Tan. I'll use one more of these stims. No time for a full med-kit treatment. Let's find the librarian."
Ashara uses one stim on herself. heals 4 more. Wounds 3/11. Should we roll to recover strain since combat ended?

Post-encounter strain rolls - cool or disc
Granite: n/a at 0
Ashara: 2 success, recovers 2 strain, now at 0
Divak Tan: n/a at 0
Master Tan offers his hand to Ashara to help her stand up. "Are you sure that you're okay?" The Jedi Master asks her.

Looking forward, he notices Jedi Knight Granite collecting his lightsaber pike from the floor with several down Clone Troopers near him. Calling out to the Jedi Knight, he says, "All clear? We should keep moving and get out of here as soon as possible."
Granite 3 wounds, 16 max; 0 strain
Ashara 3 wounds, 11 max; 0 strain, 13 max; 1 crit (1p) wound
Divak Tan 0 wounds; 0 strain

Ashara takes the hand and stands up. "I'll want a proper medical checkup later, but for now I can press on, Master. Let's go. Shall we look for a brig?"

Short Range
2 Groups of Clone Minions. Each group has 2 clones (so 4 total clones in both groups)
Clones have cover (+1 setback vs ranged attacks)
Cover is available (hiding behind beams in the corridor, like in every SW interior spaceship battle)

Vigilance initiative
Clones get boost since they are prepared and waiting for you.
Clones-Group A: 1y 2g 1b = 1 success, 5 advantage
Clones-Group B: 1y 2g 1b = 1 success, 3 advantage

Divak Tan: 2y 2g = 2 success, 2 advantage
Granite: 2y = 2 success, 2 advantage
Ashara: 1y 2g = 2 success, 3 advantage:

Everybody (heroes and clones) starts in cover

Master Tan nods and continues walking down the docking accessing tunnel. He takes a moment and reaches out with the Force. "There's one very Strong in the Force and another weaker but still Strong in the Force aboard the ship."

As they turn the corner, they are greeted by two groups of Clone Troopers. While the Clone Troopers were prepared and waiting, the Force is stronger giving each of the boarding party the first strikes.

Init: All heroes, All clones

Clone Group A = 0 wounds, 10 max
Clone Group B = 0 wounds, 10 max

Granite = 3 wounds, 16 max; 0 strain
Ashara = 3 wounds, 11 max; 0 strain, 13 max; 1 crit (1p) wound
Divak Tan = 0 wounds, 17 max; 0 strain

Granite does not have the senses that Master Tan does, but he is an experienced soldier. So when enemies suddenly appear he does not freeze or panic, he instinctively acts, muscle memory kicking in as he charges right at the enemy troopers with his pike stabbing.
Maneuver: Move from Short to Engaged with Group A.
Action: Lightsaber Pike vs Group A (2Y + 2G vs 2P).
