After Order 66, few Jedi dare to venture outside the shadows—rumors of the dark and terrible Darth Vader haunting even their waking moments. Yet, some Jedi find this life of fear unbearable. The Empire is always watching, and Vader himself is eager to confront any Jedi that might bring him closer to the whereabouts of his betrayer, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
1 LS = activate Alter, can manipulate terrain within short range until end of next turn
You can spend the other 1 DS to harm the plants - gaining DS in-game effects if used, etc. basically slows down your Morality rate to achieve paragon status, meaning you'll gain less morality points at end of session than others would who didn't call on DS. Some have used some DS and some haven't used any. You have the 1 LS rolled (and spent) to maintain holding them, so you don't need to spend the DS if you don't want to.
Shoshannah calls on the Force again and is able to maintain holding back the carnivorous plant life. Her stronger connection to the Living Force feels like it is fading, but she is able to continue her connection for the time being.
Janos now knows where he needs to dig to collect the roots.
x = marks spot where roots are at, Shoshannah just needs to "tell" or point there, otherwise, it would have been rolling random die to see if a dig found any, etc.
digging will be 'interacting' with env maneuver, then collecting roots will be a 2nd maneuver
Reeska are all immobilized for this round and next round
This might be a shorter encounter than I planned. I wasn't sure if Shoshannah would make all of her Force rolls or not and so far (first 2 rds), she's done very well.
With help from Shoshannah telling him where to dig, Janos shoves some dirt to the side and finds some roots under the surface. Using the sharp edge of the shovel, he cuts off a handful of roots. Hoping he's collected enough, he stuffs them into his backpack and stands up.
Round 2: **Reeska**, then Jedi
The Reeska continues to open and close their deadly leaves in a snapping like manner. The plants are unable to communicate with the two Jedi, but it's clear to both Jedi that the plants aren't happy about the matter. For the moment, Shoshannah continues using her ability to hold back the carnivorous plants.
Shoshannah and Janos ...
Reeska were immobilized for this round, will be active next round if not re-immobilized
With 2 DS, you can use 1 DS to activate your Force ability to hold the plants and then optionally second DS to harm them.
If you don't spend the DS to activate the power, then the Force ability "didn't work"
Either way (use DS or not use DS), you have a maneuver left (optional use)
Shoshannah calls upon the Force. As she tries to continue her concentration, she feels a coldness come over her connection as she considers whether to embrace the cold or not...
Meanwhile, Janos stands with the roots in his hand and ...
Reeska will be active next round if DS is not spent
Reeska are "short" range from Jedi.
I wasn't actually expecting to use Dark Side points, but I can see Shoshannah doing so here.
Shoshannah felt the tug of something cold and grim. She disliked the feeling--but if she didn't draw on it, she knew she wouldn't be able to hold the reeska back and would need to physically harm them. Rather than do harm to the blameless living beings, she let the cold power flow through her to hold the plants back.
I'll spend 1 Dark Side Point to hold back the reeska, but Shoshannah's doing this so she doesn't have to harm them.
Janos stands and backs up, tucking the roots into a pouch. "No need to be greedy here," he says. Gesturing toward the plants, he reaches out with the Force to try to get some sense of them, if possible.
Sorry for the delay. It was a weird week at work. I guess that'll be that. Janos will use Sense to see if he can pick up anything as well, maybe figure out if this is enough, though that's probably a difference Force power.
You can spend them or not, your call. -- After your decision, I'll end the round and let Reeska go
Janos reaches out with the force and feels a coldness in the air. Looking around, he sees Shoshannah has held back the plants so far. Now, the Jedi only need to make their escape back to the town with the roots in hand...
