1005 Adventures: Pilgrimage

"The Seven Voyages of Sinbad,""Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves,""Aladdin and His Magic Lamp" -- these and other classics fill the pages of the Arabian Nights. Each story is told by a very wise and beautiful young woman called Scheherazade, who reveals them night after night to a king with a murderous heart. The first of the thousand-and-one tales is Scheherazade's own...the last may be yours. Join the adventure in a land of sultans, genies, and desert nomads as we explore the world of Zakhara, The Land of Fate. (A vWorld Expansion)

Kasib shrugs, "That is fine by me," he answers, not really seeming to want to get into this mess at the moment.

Jabiir considers Sayyid's offer, he then unties the scabbard for Abdalla's blade. "We can consider this Abdala's last payment to see us through."

Sayyid nods, taking the scimitar and bows to his employers. "Excellent. As many of you have mentioned, money is not useful out here, but this may be. We have a few hours before the worst of the heat fades and we can move again. Sleep if you can." The guide then goes and lies down in the small amount of shade cast by his seated camel and is rapidly asleep. The man's ability to sleep is frankly amazing, and shows how terrible the nights of the werejackal heckling must have been for him.

The End

Post by Vardaen » Wed Oct 18, 2006 12:27 am

The trade is made, Sayid is considered paid, and now travels as a member of the caravan, and will expect his share of the loot -- if there ever is loot.

The day passes, the night comes and travel begins has it has for the last six days. Another 9 days will pass. Nine grueling days of heat and cold. Nice days where you see little more than sand, sand that finds its way into every last nook and cranny that you have. Kasib whines a bit about it being in his tousers, Rambad whines about it never comeing out of his hair, Jabiir complains about his saddle soars, and Orman complains about the lack of entertainment. Sayyid continues to display his ability to sleep any time and any place.

Nine days of stops at tiny oasi, three of those days you stop at places where the Desert Riders of Beni Ordi claim watering holes are, but there is nothing but dried up wadis. A few cactus are found one day, water and the cactus meat is a nice change. One night you hear the howels of jackals in the distance, but they are far to the south, and never disrrupt your sleep as before.

The sun is your only real enemy, as nothing lives out here, and only you are foolish enough to travel this close to the Genie's Anvil. By the end of nine and a half days you begin to see mirages. The heat shimmers infront of you and the image of a hill, rising up into mountains comes into view. At the base of the cliff you see a small mosque.

Wait that is no mirage, that is the Tomb of Suhail min Zann! You have reached your destination!
Congrats, Pilgramage has ended! You have reached your goal! I will start the next chapter shortly and award XP to everyone!
