Bohthin makes himself into something resembling a weathered boulder. His shield is held high and his stance is low. He is faced with two enemies but shows no signs of fear. If anything, frustration is in the dwarf's voice.

"C'mon, lads," he says, "Knock these louts over before they can run! They may have a drop or two left in their flasks, eh!!!"

He grits his teeth. He does his best to stay defensive, deflecting any blows that may come with his shield, while he will lash out at the first of his foes to do him harm. Tit for Tet.

Datu is still confined to the ground for the moment, and since his mace went to the left, impacting with the ground, he brings it back to the right, again about knee-level to the bandit.

He barks at the bandit, "Gah! Just leave me alone!"
No called shot. TB2

With a satisfied smile, "Grez see you have pain. now Grez stop pain!!"

as Grez readies his weapon, he notices the zombie start to shamble to it's feet. Taking a step to his right, as the weapon trys to seperate the witch's upper body from her lower half, "Call off dead guy and Grez might let u live! NOW!!!"

Grez continues sidestep to try to keep the witch between Grez and the zombie[/b]

Combat Post #1, Round #5

Post by TetNak » Sat Oct 23, 2004 9:00 pm

The injured dwarf continues to attempt to ward off the nearest attacker. Datu's mace swings clumsily out toward the bandit's legs, but once again his situation is so that he cannot come close to hitting his target as he his seated.
Melee Weapon (Axe/Mace) 13 of 7 (10-3), Failure
Phillip's wild and mostly untrained attack is a long overhead chop with his staff. The attack looks extremely odd, as the man holds the bottom of his staff like an axe, swinging it down toward the bandit.

The bandit, however, reacts to the attack, but reacts poorly. He jerks his sword upward to block the attack, but instead of parrying with his sword, he parries with his hand! Instantly the bandit screams in pain, dropping the sword and falling backwards onto his back!
Melee Weapon (Staff) 9 of 10, Success. Parry 17 of 10, Critical Failure. TB2 Falls Down! Hit Location: Right Hand. Damage: 7 - DR = 7. > 1/3 Damage for Hand = 5 dmg. Hand Crippled. Stun vs. HT 11 of 12 (Saved but Still Stunned from Knockdown). Shock Damage -4. Drops shortsword
Critical Failures:

Upon a 17 roll for attack or defense, a critical failure is given unless the skill of the user is 16 or above, if so then it is just a normal failure. Then the result of the failure is decided by rolling 3d6 against a chart. In this case the failure was "Fall Down".
Crippled Extremities:

When a hand or foot his hit the effective damage is greater than one-third of the victim's HP. In this case the bandit had 12 HPs and 1/3 of 12 is 4. 5 is the lowest HPs that will cripple an extremity here. When a hand is crippled anything in that hand is dropped. In this case the "One Hand" disadvantage is gained until healed.
Gavran leers over the fallen bandit as he had done to Datu. The Druid flips the spear upside down so that the tip is pointed downward. Then, after taking it by both hands, the Druid performs the coup de grace. The spear plummets into the bandits stomach. The bandit grunts strangely, both his broken and uninjured hand attempting to grab onto the shaft. His body tenses against the unimaginable feeling shooting through his limbs and then suddenly goes limp as his spirit flies to the Halls of the Sky for judgement.
Melee Attack (Spear) 10 of 15, Success. Dodge 9 of 4 (8 - 4), Failure. Damage 6 - DR = 4 x 2 (Imp x 2) = 8 dmg. Dead!

Combat Post #2, Round #5

Post by TetNak » Sun Oct 24, 2004 7:58 pm

The depleted Templar bandits remain with ranged weapons, but one is harassed by the dwarf Bohthin, and only the westmost archer has a clear shot at anyone. The arrow shoots in a straight line toward Gavran, who has just ended the threat of another bandit.

Seeing he is the target of incoming fire, the Druid jerks his spear from the belly of the dead bandit and jumps to the side. The movement is enough to evade the shot. The arrow only strikes the ground, breaking in half as the arrowhead connects with a rock just beneath the surface of dirt.
Bow 9, Success. Dodge 6 of 9, Success
The second archer being assaulted by Bohthin drops his bow and draws his shortsword. The man attempts to sneak an attack into the vital areas of the dwarf. He bends low, steps left, and stabs his blade toward the dwarf's stomach. Bohthin deflects the blow partially, pushing the blade away from his stomach with his shield, but causing the tip of the sword to drive into his right thigh.

The chains bend and push into his leg, but the flesh is not cut, and time will probably show only a bruise instead of a potential festering wound.
Melee Weapon (Shortsword) 10, Success . Block 12 of 11, Failure. Damage 5 - DR = 0.
Ola takes a step backward; frustrated his attacks have been repelled over and over again. He sheaths his large knife, drawing another throwing dagger off of his jacket. His eyes narrow, taking aim, and with a flick of the wrist throws out the dagger toward the last Baal bandit's head.

The knife actually connects with the man's face, but is not as much a dangerous wound as it could be. The blade cuts deep into his cheek, but falls to the ground afterward, and causing blood to flow quickly from the wound.
Thrown Weapon (Knife) / Called Shot: Face 9 of 11 (16 - 5), Success. Damage 3 - DR = 0. 3 * Wounding Multiplier = 6. Shocked -4
Called Shot - Face:

Called shots to the face incur a -5 penalty to hit.
Grez's words appear lost to the witch, but his sword certainly draws her attention. The blade is swung in a deadly horizontal arc with the sole intention of relieving Az-hara's head. Luckily Baal protects her this day. She ducks and is save from a terrible wound. The blade connects with nothing but air.
Two-handed Sword 9 of 11, Success. Dodge 6, Success.
Electricity sparks from Aethalion's staff. The crackling of the power that resides there only last for a moment before jumping off the staff toward the lone Templar bandit archer. The electricity hits him squarely in the chest, burning through the armor and charring skin and flesh. Screaming the man takes a step backward to collect himself, tears of pain welling up in his eyes as he does so.
Lightening 4 of 14, Success. Innate Attack 7 of 12, Success. Dodge 9 of 8, Failure. Torso. Damage 5 - DR = 3

Combat Post #3, Round #5

Post by TetNak » Sun Oct 24, 2004 8:50 pm

"Give me speed and quickness oh' Lord of the Dead!" Az-hara's words bring forth a strange aura that surrounds her. It cannot be clear as to what she has done, but obviously some sort of magic is at work here.
Haste 9, Success. +3 Move/Dodge
Bohthin is stabbed in the leg, but retaliates by swinging his own mace which connects with the bandit's leg as well. The bandit, unlike Bohthin, only has a simple cloth legging to provide protection. The protection it does offer is little, and if it weren't for a slight adjustment by the bandit his leg would have been all but crippled. However, he steps slightly at the last moment and the mace does not land as square as it could have.
Melee Weapon (Axe/Mace) 11 of 12, Success. Dodge 11 of 8, Failure. Left Leg. Dmg 4 - DR = 3. Shock -3.
Blood dripping from his face, the Baal bandit steps forward to attack Ola. He swings, but the movement throws blood into his eyes, and blinds his attack upon the halfling. The sword swings but never hits home.
Melee Weapon (Shortsword) 11, Failure.
The undead zombie is extremely slow, and cannot reach Grez to attack. Alabastar moves around Az-hara, passing Ola, but does not attack. Obviously he soul intention is to protect Az-hara or kill Grez but either one has him marching toward the barbarian.
Alabastar moves two hexes

Aethalion finally smiles as one of his attacks has some effect at last! He then looks to either side of the battle field and calls out, "Gavran! Bothin! Finish off the Black Templar's bandits, there are on the verge of breaking, finish them off. I will try and aid our Barbarian and Halfling friends" He then moves a bit closer to agents of Baal charging up his staff once more with as much eletrical juice as he can muster. Once the staff is sharged he releases the static bolt to the Undead Alabaster hoping to fry the abomination's arm off with the magical power within the bolt. His air stands on end and you doubt that it will ever return to normal with all the eletrical charges that have emerge from this Sea Elf.

Gavran looks quickly to Phillip and shoots him a smile. then grimaces,
"I might need your help later Phillip..." pointing to the arrow still lodged in his abdomen,

"I'm Getting to it you impatient elven cur..."
He again hefts his bow spining to the bandit still shooting at him.... "Learn to shoot ya half whit, baal worshiping, Son of a she Whelp!" He sights down the shaft and fires, already drawing another arrow.

Phillip pauses as Gavran impales the bandit. The attack was well placed, and was a deffinetly a quick and clean kill. The bandit didn't suffer, and on one hand that was good. Even though these men were out to kill him Phillip still couldn't help but not want to actually kill anyone.

An arrow flies toward Gavran and he neatly dodges it. As the arrow snaps on the ground it wakes Phillip out of his musings. Now was not the time for reflection, there were still those who were alive he could save. "I might need your help later Phillip..." pointing to the arrow still lodged in his abdomen.

"I'll be here when you need me." Phillip nods as Gavran turns back to the fighting. Looking quickly about Phillip bends down next to Datu and says, "Are you done being attacked now? I've got others to heal now." He smiles and winks just to add a bit more reasurance.

Datu grimaces... well, it might be a grin, but tough to tell from the position of the dwarf.

He swings his mace out above his head, it still not connecting with anything, and then he nods. "It seems like they'll leave me alone for a time, yes."

He then tries to push himself up onto his side so he can see what is going on around him.
