Combat Post #1, Round #6

Post by TetNak » Thu Oct 28, 2004 12:13 am

The wolfhound continues to growl dangerously, but does not move, the blood flowing from his severed leg slowly but steadily.

Phillip helps Datu to his unsteady feet. The gash in his leg has stopped bleeding for the most part, but the wound is deep and has cut into the joint of the knee. The dwarf puts some pressure on the injured leg and instantly a shooting pain greets him.

Gavran thrusts the tip of his spear into the ground, bents, and retrieves his bow quickly. An arrow sits upon the bow as the Druid's arm draws another forth fluidly. The arrow is launched and head straight for the bandit archer, but at the last second the attacker jumps to the side!
Bow 8 of 15, Success. Dodge 8 of 8, Success
The archer is overmatched, even though he avoids the oncoming arrow. Eventually, he knows, the arrows and magic of the defenders will overcome him.

His will is not set to the Templar's last command. The bandit drops his bow and turns, running from the field in a frantic sprint for safety. The bandit's legs move him only ten feet before he drops to his knees, screaming in agony before they even hit the ground. Blood leaks through his fingers as his hands cover his ears. When his screams end he falls to the ground dead.

The curse of the Templar indeed.

The second bandit Bohthin does nothing of the same. He continues to fight. He has not been successful in harming the dwarf. Even the bandit's successful attacks are turned by Bohthin's heavy armor. The next swipe of his swordsword is no different. The man steps backward and swings, but leaves his arm out of reach and completely misses the dwarf.
Melee Weapon (Shortsword) 9, Failure

With fury in hi eye's Grez's sword once again sings for the blood of Az-hara.

Combat Post #2, Round #6

Post by TetNak » Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:29 am

The halfling, Ola, produces another dagger from his jacket. And once again, he takes careful aim, flipping the dagger at the bandit before him. This dagger just nicks the man's neck, leaving a thin line of red, blood slowly flowing from it.
Thrown Weapon 9 of 11 (-5 for Called), Success. Dodge 9 of 8, Failure. Hit Location - Neck. Damage 1 - DR = 1. Shocked -1 (Next Round)
Grez swings his sword round without regard to safety or defense, only trying to end the vile life standing before him. Grez's sword connects with Az-hara's staff, but under the power of the giant the staff is cut in two! The blade is not through, however, as it's sharp edge cuts deeply and swiftly into the witches' chest. She falls backward, the two pieces of staff flying into opposite directions, and Az-hara remaining on her back with a fog rolling over her eyes.
Melee Weapon (2 Handed Sword) 8 of 12, Success. Parry 15, Failure. Hit Location - Torso. Damage 9 - DR = 8. Shocked -4. Stun Save 12, Failure. Stunned & Knocked Down!

Aethalion's bolt flies quick and straight, dissolving into Alabaster's arm. Flesh is charred and melts skin and flesh from bone, but none of this seems to stop Alabaster's intent of ripping Grez limb from limb.
Lightening 9 of 14, Success. Innate Attack 7 of 10 (12 - 2), Success. Hit Location - Right Arm. Damage 4 - DR = 4.
Az-hara remains on the ground, blood gushing from her massive wound, her voice not even able to speak any words of magic as the shock of the wound rushes over her mortal body.
Az-hara's stunned

Combat Post #3, Round #6

Post by TetNak » Tue Nov 02, 2004 2:07 am

Bohthin leaps and swings, his mace slamming into the Templar Bandit's Adam's Apple. His off hand grabs a hold of it, choking violently and wheezing as he breathes. The man takes a step backward, but rights himself, still holding his shortsword to keep the dwarf at bay.
Melee Weapon (Axe/Mace) 10 of 12, Success. Dodge 10, Failure. Hit Locaiton - Neck. Damage 5 - DR = 5 x Wounding Multiplier (1.5) = 7. Save vs. Stun 11, Success. Shocked -4
The Baal Bandit stabs at Ola, fighting through the sting of the cut on his face and neck, his sword driving straight forward. Ola proves too quick as he jumps to the side, his face still red with anger after what has happened to his beloved companion, Damascus.
Melee Weapon (Shortsword) 10, Success. Dodge 5 of 9, Success.
Alabastar swings his clawed hands down onto Grez's right leg, cutting into flesh and scraping bony claws against his leg bone. Blood begins flowing immediately from the barbarian's leg, making him dizzy and weak. Somehow he remains conscious, but is slowed by the vicious wound the undead monster has finally delivered.
Brawling 8, Success. Parry 14, Failure. Damage 8 - DR = 8. Hit Location - Right Leg. HP at - 3. HT roll or go unconscious, 8 of 9 (-3). Shocked for -4
0 HP or Less

Target is Halved "Move" and "Dodge", subject is in immediate threat of collapse. Roll vs. HT at full multiple below 0 to stay conscious. Target must do this every round thereafter until HP is above zero.
I didn't move Grez as he asked because that would be entering Az-hara's hex with his two-handed sword. He wouldn't be able to attack correctly.

Phillip takes one last lingering look at Datu before he nods and scans the battlefield. Datu's leg would hurt until he could finish the healing, but he would live.

Phillip's eyes light upon the injured Damascus. The poor beast was in pain and it's cries pulled at his heart. Rushing forward Phillip closes the distance quickly and then slows and circles around until he can get Damascus to notice him. Phillip knew all too well that an injured animal was extremely dangerous.

"Okay now big fella, don't worry. Let me help you and then we can help the others."
Yeah, it seems wierd but looking at the map the one who needs his help most (Grez) is beyond another injured being (Damascus) so Phillip will naturally go to the closest target.

Once more the Elf charges his staff with eletrical power, the previous strike finally having some serious effect. He charges again, "Hold Tight Evol! You do not fight alone!" With that he hoists his staff into the air above him and as he whips the end toward the undead, the eletrical charge building at the tip leaps from it, as if thrown.
Same old same old at Alabaster

"Fly True this day!"
He draws a bead on the party member he never met and lets fly!

As the Sword smashes through the witches staff, a look of pure joy can be seen in the barbarians eye's, "Grez going to finish you..."

Spotting movement in the corner of Grez's, he lunges to his right as the evil undead man claws at him, but the lunge costs grez dearly, as his right foot is caught in the robe of Al-hara. with the limb sticking out like a pig on a spit, the evil Alibaster digs his claw into the exposed flesh of the barbarian's leg.

"NOO!!!!!" as the sound of the 2 handed sword hits the ground again. Grez once again recoils from the icy pain of the zombie. "Little Man!! HELP GREZ!!!" with a stagger that can only show the weakness of the wounds taken, not to mention the amount of red covering various parts of the barbarian, Grez looks around quickly, and upon seeing the group to the north, starts that way, as fast as his shredded leg and weakened body will take him.
go 2 north and full def. against anything coming from the south.

Combat Post #1, Round #7

Post by TetNak » Thu Nov 04, 2004 4:39 pm

The injured dwarf Datu puts some weight upon his crippled leg, but cannot leave it there for long. He limps noticeably, hopping on one leg, as he turns to inspect what is happening with Az-hara and her undead minion.
Posting for Brennor
Damascus looks up at Phillip weakly, as he rushes to the aid of the fallen wolfhound, not showing any signs of danger to the psionic healer. Phillip quickly realizes that the dog will probably never walk properly again, and serving as a mount would be nearly impossible, but the healer is convinced he can stop the bleeding and ensure a long life for the beast.

Phillip closes his eyes, then suddenly the blood stops and the wound is closed. Damascus' tail begins to wag as the dog gets to its feet. Damascus, not unlike Datu, limps about as it turns to face Ola and Grez fighting for their lives.
Healing - IQ Check 8 of 13 (+2 Healing Talent), Success. 2 FP spent to heal 3 HP (Damascus only had lost 3 HP)
The Druid quickly fires at the undead creature, sending an arrow to aid Grez, but Alabastar will not be felled so easily. The shot is perfect, impaling the creature in the side, where typically a man's kidneys would reside. The zombie cares not for its own rotted organs and moves onward as normal!
Bow 14 of 15, Success. Dodge 11, Failure. Hit Location - Vitals. Damage 4 - DR = 4 x Wound Multiplier = 4.

Combat Post #2, Round #7

Post by TetNak » Thu Nov 04, 2004 5:12 pm

The Templar bandit casts a quick glance over the battlefield. He gasps in disbelief, a frown following as the realization that winning this battle may prove difficult.

His anger is quickly turned back to the halfling, as he swings his shortsword at Bohthin once again.

But his sword arm is too slow, missing the dwarf by a handspan.
Melee Weapon (Shortsword) 14, Failure
Ola attacks again, by drawing his last throwing dagger and launching it toward his attacker. Another aimed attack, or so it seems, as the blade sinks into the side of the bandit's neck.

The bandit drops his sword and grabs the dagger, his eyes opening frantically wide, but as he pulls it from the wound his worry quickly is drowned by the loss of blood. The bandit drops to his knees, both hands attempting to cover the spurting blood that seems to jump from his jugular. Within moments he continues his path downward, slumping to the ground as unconsciousness takes him, only leaving death as his next journey.
Thrown Weapon (Dagger) 11 of 11 (-5 Called Shot), Success. Dodge 7 of 4 (-4 1/3 HP). Damage 2 - DR = 2 x Impaling = 4.
Grez attempts to run but after the first step on his mangled leg causes pain even he cannot withstand. At first, a dizzy sensation, and then nothing. The giant of a man comes tumbling down to the ground, unconscious from the pain and blood loss, he now rests at the mercy of his attackers and defenders.
HT 14 of 8 (-3 per wounds below 0), Failure
I made some mistakes with Grez this combat. He has the High Pain Threshold advantage an cannot be shocked. Sorry!
Electricity sparks from the Sea Mage's staff. Aethalion lets loose a stream of white sparks that all end upon the zombie's chest. Once again, flesh and skin melt, falling off the creature and onto the ground, but still the zombie is not slowed!
Lightening 14 of 14, Success. Innate Attack 9 of 12, Success. Dodge 10, Failure. Damage 5.
