Awww, damn. I just got all 3Ed books, except the Emerald Empire. :x

Well, as long as the 3rd's still used here I don't care very much as I haven't found someone else here to play L5R with. Yet.

I heard about this a few months back but wasn't offical or anything yet. I'm not so sure I'm going to change anything to 4th Edition. I like 3rd (maybe I 'll change to Revised, but who has the money for more books?)

On a side note, knowing AEG publishing schedule, 2010 means more like 2011.

Art of War board game anyone? Its over a year late being released...

The thing I liked from what he said in mackaber's link is this.

He says its going to be edited better, and the book will make more sense organizationally. It was a terribly poor in the organization department.

And detaching theme from system. I like that. I think it will drastically change the game though. I would love to be able to use the system for other games, as I love it, but its just too much work to convert/create schools, etc.

From everything I've read it seems that they have learned from their mistakes...

I agree about Organization, but after some use of the book you can locate things. Editing has always been an issue it seems, typos and such are active in most of the books from 1st onwards.

I'm interested in the detach the system from the theme. How can the book be L5R if its not about L5R however? You'll end up with things like nWoD, with a base book and the books for each setting maybe? I do agree Tet it would be nice to try and use it in another setting, but unless you had generic Schools and Techniques for 'Heavy Swordsman', 'Archer', 'Spellcaster', you are going to have some trouble with that aspect of it, Dojo, Kata, etc. Alot of that is so tied to the setting.

I'll be curious to see it, but not eager to shell out any money. I still need to get the Vacant Throne book and 3rd Ed Rev.

Does anyone know the release date for this? I've heard May 2010. Can anyone confirm?
