Mako's actions from last May are still good.
Mako takes note of the threats. "Great, I just would love to be able to step into a bloody convenience mart once and not get into trouble. But with this crew around that doesnt seem likely. Oh well, here it comes ... again"

Mako closes his physical eyes briefly and begins to envision a matrix pattern in his mind, forming the local astral space.
Mako will use a complex action to summon a force 4 Air spirit (Optional Power: Elemental Attack) using Edge.

Summoning
Mako rolls Magic + Summoning + Edge (4+3+3)
Spirit rolls Force (4)
Net hit equal services owed.

Drain
Drain Value equals (hits of spirit) x2 (min 2)
Mako rolls Willpower + Logic (4+4)to reduce DV
Spirit force <= Mako's Magic, so Drain is Stun.

Wow... sorry boggensagg. Dunno how I missed that. I thought I'd scoured the entirety of the thread to do any unused actions of anyones, but I missed that post somehow. Sorry about that! Thanks for watching the thread though!

21 Wanda (Elven woman behind counter with large, orange hair spike)
22 Wiley (fringed leather guy with mud and dirt caking hair)
23 Zany (woman in skimpy cut-offs and halter top and long coat)

Players will be blue, NPCs green; known enemies in red. Players are numbered 1-8.
Mako closes his eyes, concentrating on the astral around him and shaping a figure out of it.
Summoning a spirit takes a Complex Action. Only spirits allowed by the tradition of the magician may be summoned. The magician decides on a force for the spirit and makes an Opposed Test of (Magic + Summoning) vs the spirit's Force. When the force chosen is greater than the magician's Magic Rating, the Drain will be Physical. The Force cannot exceed twice the magician's Magic Rating.

The base Drain for the Summoning Test is equal to twice the hits the spirit scores on its test (with a minimum DV of 2). Each hit on the Drain Resistance Test (Willpower + tradition's attribute) reduces the DV by 1.

Each of the magician's net hits on the Summoning Test result in a task owed by the spirit. If the magician rolls no hits, no spirit appears. If the magician glitches, it is likely that the spirit will try to bend as many task rules as possible.

A magician may have no more than 1 unbound spirit at any time.
Mako spends a point of Edge to use his Edge Rating on the test. He's rolling Magic + Summoning + Edge vs the Spirit's Force.

Mako's Summoning Test (10): 6 5 5 5 4 4 3 3 2 2 1 -> 4 hits
Spirit's Summoning Test (4): 6 4 3 3 -> 1 hits

Mako has 3 net hits == 3 services owed by the spirit.

Mako's Drain Resistance Test (8): 5 5 4 4 4 3 1 -> 2 hits

Reduces the drain from 2 (2 * 1) to 0.
On the astral plane, a form appears slightly to the side of Mako, speaking in a whisper of a voice. "What is it you need me to do?" To those who cannot view the astral plane, something akin to a heat haze appears to be hovering over the counter.

Now that the shotgun wielding freak is behind the counter, the ganger with the katana drops it from Wanda's throat. He then looks around, for those closest to him. He peers towards the back of the store and then up at the front doors, before looking down Aisle 5. There's a target.

SlicerDicer turns from the counter and begins moving towards his new target, which turns out to be Titalicious. He comes up right in front of the Elf and almost begins shouting. "You lookin' at me? You wanna make something of it?" He looks the Elf up and down once again. "C'mon. You and me. One on one."

The male rocker in white leathers, Jack Scatman, drops and rolls to the south edge of the aisle he is in.

There is a clatter of cans from the back corner (Aisle 16) of the store. Rick Smash takes a quick look down the aisle at the sound. There, Johnny was piling up soup cans. The cans are now spread across the aisle, and the stockboy is kneeled down next to the shelf, tipped forward headfirst into the area he was stocking. It appears that the stockboy fainted.

Timmy Thinners drops to the floor and rolls under the counter, crying.

The female Rocker, Angie Scatman, drops and rolls to the north edge of the aisle she is in.

Spike breaks off from the others he is with, heading towards the games. Approaching the first game, which happens to be Orbital Ninja Death Commando 5, he raps on a few of the buttons, apparently checking out the high scores.

Wanda doesn't quite seem to realize the predicament she's in, having a shotgun right near her head. In fact, she seems oblivious to most of what is going on around her.

Zany, the chick in the back of the store in the cutoffs and the halter top, slides off the counter and approaches Rick Smash. As she walks, her high heels click across the floor. In a somewhat sexy voice, she calls out to the other gangers, "I'm gonna search this one myself!" Catcher giggles harder and a couple of the others at the door laugh as well. She looks over Rick Smash, "Well, well, where should we start?" She reaches out to touch the big trog. As she moves, both Lazar and Mako can now see the big gang symbol on the back of her long coat.

Slipshot, the punk with the cheap street pistol, begins to run along the shelves, knocking random things off of them, laughing as he goes. He passes Wadatits before turning up the center aisle heading for the foodstuffs, running. He seems to ignore his wound.

Invisible, Slam Witch is not happy at all. One-two-three red icons pip up on her AR glasses, one after the other... "and more to come, if things go normal," she silently adds. She slinks into a nearby isle free of hostiles, and peers over at the ganger bimbo making a move on Rick Smash. "Stupid, stupid," she thinks as she forms a modestly-sized ball of spirit energy in the palm of her left hand. Once fully-formed, she extends her arm, focuses in on the halter-top wearer's astral signature, and grounds the Mana Bolt directly into her with a mischievous, tusked grin.
Duck a short ways down Aisle 9 (enough for some cover), Force 3 Mana Bolt to Zany. Sustaining concentration on Improved Invisibility, -2 to dice pools.
Game On!

boggensagg wrote:I don't know where this is appropriate, so I will post it here.

The question is where in the initative order the spririt comes in and how soon.

Mako will order the spirit to use its Confusion power on the 4 closest enemy targets.

Mako whispers from his crouching position. "Confuse them, as many of them as possible."
The Sprit will get its own initiative in the order.

However, giving commands to the spirit is a Simple Action, and will have to occur on Mako's next turn.
Page 168 SR4 wrote:Command a Spirit: Using a Simple Action, a magician may issue a command to a spirit under his control. More than one spirit may be commanded in this manner if they are all given the same command (see Conjuring, p. 176).

Players will be blue, NPCs green; known enemies in red. Players are numbered 1-8 & 24-25.
Slam Witch tucks herself around the corner of the nearest aisle, which happens to contain the two cowering rocker-wannabes. She's got to remain near the edge so that the can see her target. She begins building energy to throw at Zany.
Mana Bolt, Force 3 @ Zany.

Slam Witch's Spellcasting Test: Magic (5) + Spellcasting (3) - sustained spell (2): 5 4 4 4 2 1 -> 4 hits ... hits cannot exceed force of spell -> 3 hits.

Zany's Resistance Test: Willpower (4): 5 4 3 1 -> 2 hits

Slam Witch has 1 more hit than Zany. Zany takes 3 (base Force of spell) + 1 (Slam Witch's net hits) = 4P damage.

DV is 3/2 = 1.

Drain Resistance Test: Willpower (4) + Charisma (4): 6 6 5 5 4 3 3 2 -> 5 hits

5 hits is greater than the DV. Slam Witch takes no drain.
Slam Witch builds up her energy and releases it at her target. She can see that it connects and sinks into the body of the ganger chick. She also notices some blood start to trickle from the other woman's ear.

Louis Needles, the boy that wants everything, finally breaks away from his mother and makes his way towards the next aisle, where he approaches the man conversing with the toaster oven. "Hey... Hey, mister!" He tries to get the attention of the spaced man. "Are you, are you a Shadowrunner?" He rushes over this last word, excitement clearly showing in his voice. He gets no response. "Hey, you there? What, are you a decker or something?" He approaches closer. "What's that on your jacket? That your group symbol or something?" He glances around to see if anyone else is listening in. "Hey, have you ever seen a Dragon?!?!"

Mrs. Needles, the obese woman, drops behind her cart and begins screaming like mad.

Wiley, covered in the full length, synthleather coat which is covered in faux fur, laughs and waves in the direction of the Cook-It-Yourself microwave. He runs towards the nearest display, trying to climb it.
Athletic Test: 4, 4, 3 -> 2 successes
As he clambers up the shelving display, one of the shelves below him gives way, causing a bunch of soaps (both liquid and bar) to fall. There are a couple of splooping sounds, so it seems as if some of them might have broken. However, the climber catches himself, and rests on top of the shelving units. In a moment of glee, he lets loose a howl. He almost looks like a coyote or a wolf howling at the moon.

Hawk calls out to the man that told him to do what the skinny man told him to. "I don't think so." He moves forward a bit to try to get a better view of what is happening behind the counter, and takes aim at the skinny guy with the shotgun, firing his Hammerli 620S again.
1st shot:
Hawk's attack: 5 4 4 3 3 1 -> 1 hit
Catcher's defense: 6 6 6 3 -> 3 hits
2 net hits for Catcher. Hawk misses.

2nd shot:
Hawk's attack: 4 3 3 2 2 2 -> 0 hits
Catcher's defencse: 6 5 3 1 -> 2 hits
2 net hits for Catcher. Hawk misses.
Hawk seems to have worse luck against the lanky shotgun wielder. He can't even seem to impact the scrawy guy.

Blinky, who was taking a nap in the van, is awoken by all of the messages being sent between the team. He begins powering up his interfaces and activating drones. He then send a message to everyone:
"Clear the doors, heavy support coming in!"
Blinky then switches over into a mode so that he can control the drones.
Will put the drone rules in the next post with Blinky. Blinky is currently switching over to his Matrix initiative.
Mr. Nick continues his headlong flight across the store, ducking and covering. He makes it to his office, opening the door and ducking inside.

Now that he was inside this punk's weapon system, Spectre works quickly to do what he can to disable it - all the more eager to defang this ganger since the fellow is coming closer. Uncertain of exactly the best way, he quickly runs through options, taking the best one he can.
I'm inside the guns PAN. But I've read the rules and I'm still not certain of exactly what I can do to stop it from working. Can I jam it? Turn it off? Screw with the targeting? I'd like to do whatever I can to make the gun work as poorly as I can. (Not at all, being the best option)
