Anneke continues forward, shuffling up behind Xerxes with her crossbow at her shoulder. She hesitates for a second, waiting for the kobold with the sling to try its luck at another shot. Sure enough, its diminutive head and right shoulder slides out from behind its cover, sling whirling in hand. Anneke's bolt hits him right between the eyes and he topples backward, obviously finished. The sling whips into the ground with a whumpf and stops after a bounce.

The first kobold into the brush suddenly reappears on top of a good sized boulder, about 30 feet up and off the trail. He yips loudly as his sling whips around and he launches a wild stone at the lizardman, but it flies wide.

Looking more and more like we lost DarthVayne...? Any word?

Aided by his magic, Corwick rushes forward, closer to the conflict with the goblins. Once he closes the distance, he gestures with one hand while speaking a few mystic words. Immediately, a man-sized giant scorpion shimmers into existence beside him, as if summoned from the aether. It snaps its claws together viciously, and advances towards the kobolds.
Move Action: W W W W W NW NW W W
Standard Action: Cast Minor Image to create the illusion of summoning a Medium Monstrous Scorpion in the square one W of Corwick. Have the scorpion move W W W NW NW W W

Corwick will remain ready to make the scorpion look and sound as if it's been hit if any arrows pass through it.

The gnome's gift for illusions is once again brilliantly displayed, as a scorpion the size of a large man appears next to the wizard, and then clickety clicks up the road. The sun shines slightly off of its hard shell, its pincers slam shut menacingly, and its venomous tail springs slightly, ready to strike, as it moves toward the kobolds. One of them yips loudly, fear obvious in his voice.

Suddenly, there is a blur of movement up and to the left, as the large tree falls from its rocky precipice, swinging down hard at the road. The log is twenty some feet long and well over a foot thick. It slams through Corwick's illusionary scorpion and collides mightily with the road beneath in a sickening smack. A brief sigh of relief is felt by all, that the trap struck only an illusion, for it obviously could have done some serious damage.

Unfortunately, that relief is short lived, as the tumbling timber isn't done yet. It bounces once or twice, and then starts rolling downhill toward your group. The road is still steep here, and it picks up momentum as it rumbles down the hill.

Xerxes sees it coming his way, and effortlessly leaps over the heavy moving log. Anneke goes for the same move, but the thing bounces a bit as it passes under her, just enough to trip her up. Her feet stop, and she falls face first toward the road's edge, before smoothly curling into a ball and tumbling forward to come up on her feet in an impressive move.

Corwick's enhanced speed helps him out a bit, the extra momentum getting him up and over the obstacle. Jorund doesn't do quite as well as Anneke, the tumbling log bangs into his armored knees, bruising them sorely, and nearly knocking him off his feet. The log continues for a bit past him, but finally rolls off road, bouncing far down the mountain side, and showering splinters on the rocks.

Agamagan glances back at the sound, and sees a fourth kobold feeding a rock into its sling, up high on the rock where the tree was growing. The tricky little bastard yells something across the clearing at his friends as he surveys the damage done.

Xerxes sees a kobold hiding behind some trees, and moves to engage the evil creature.

When he arrives beside him, he sends his mindblade straight at the kobold, in a lethal upward jab meant to catch the creature in his chest.
Move W, W, W, W, SW and attack K4 with my mindblade.

Xerxes leaps the log and keeps on trotting. In a blink he scoots around the corner of the rock outcropping, his eyes aimed up where the tree fell from. The arm holding his mindblade sweeps back and then up in a powerful arc, sending the glowing weapon spinning toward the top of the rock. His aim is nearly perfect as the blade strikes the kobold squarely in its upper chest, nearly decapitating the creature, which spasms violently and then tumbles to the road, landing with a crunch near the Xeph below.

Kalagar keeps chugging up the hill, his armor feeling hot and restrictive. After a short ways, he stops, huffs a deep breath, and begins chanting. He draws his longsword as he intones the sacred words and then, bringing his shield to bear, makes a motion almost like Xerxes throwing his mindblade. This sword, however, stays in Kalagar's hand, ending up pointing straight at the kobold on the rock above the brush. A shimmering form appears in the air near that kobold, and moves swiftly at it, leaving a bloody stripe across the front of the thing's shoulder.

The far kobold, with the crossbow, decides against reloading, and instead turns to flee, trotting off into the brush behind him...

Jorund continues to huff and puff, his face reddened with a mixture of both frustration and exhaustion. Still, the dour dwarf remains confident that he will eventually reach his prey.

Continue to run after the kobolds. Keep my head straight about it however, as I would really wish to get squished again! Also, if in the event anyone in the group gets seriously injured, I will quickly cease my stride, go defensive, and approach the wounded individuals in order to heal them.

Agamagan bellows and charges the kobold hiding just off the road. The fact that it is perched on a rock causes the Lizardman to run around behind the outcropping and up the back in his effort to catch the thing.
Double move around behind the kobold in my effort to attack him.
7. A spiritual creature is wholly simple in its essence. Yet there is still a twofold composition in the spiritual creature, namely, that of the essence with being, and that of the substance with accidents.

The pursuit continues with the dwarf chugging along, further up the road. The lizardman runs off into the brush, around and up the boulder, approaching the last kobold in sight. Anneke trots up to the edge of the road, searching for a sign of the one that ran.

Between Kalagar's shimmering spiritual sword and the deaths of his buddies, the last kobold has seen enough. He turns to run, only to find Agamagan standing behind him. He tries his best to duck past the lizardman but there is only one safe way off of the rock, and it is blocked. Agamagan lashes out as it tries to slip by, wrapping a clawed hand around one of the creature's arms.

The kobold screeches, and tries to bite the arm that holds him, but his teeth just glance off of Agamagan's tough, scaled skin. After this, the larger, much stronger lizardman has little trouble wrestling the thing to the ground and squeezing it into unconsciousness.

Corwick continues his rush forward. Ad he does, the gnome shouts a warning. "There's someone else up there - a leader of some sort. They were trying to warn him. Be careful."
