The End is Near The city of Otosan Uchi hovers under eternal shadow. The Dark Lord, Fu Leng, has declared himself the immortal Emperor of Rokugan, and the Scorpion, Kachiko, rules at his side. The other Thunders are dead or scattered. Ikoma Ujiaki leads the Imperial Legions at the Dark Lord'€™s command. All that lives must bow down in fealty before him or be destroyed.

New Initiative: Ijiko 59!, Noburo 37!, Hidekazu 21, Bakemono 4-6: 19, Rokku 19, Bakemono 3: 10, Bakemono 1: 6

FYI, I am playing these as if those with armor are wearing it.

Ijiko-chan spins around, her katana moving in a graceful and quick pattern. With a whip of the blade the Scorpion samurai finishes her posture with a high bend backwards strike. The tip of her katana pierces the forehead of the bakemono only an inch, but only an inch is needed. The poised 'tail stance' has done its job, the samurai-ko flicks the blade just a tiny bit and the goblin falls from from the blade in a heap, dead at her feet without a sound.
Ijiko: Stance Att: (2 Free Raises on Att, 1 Free Rase Dmg) Att #1: 4k3 7 9 7=23 Hit for 7k3 6 7 18=31 DMG (Void Spent, 1 Remains), DEAD

Noburo scans the scene of destruction before him of burnt and screaming shadowland creatures. A thin smile of satisfaction is on his face from the punishment metted out by the kami against the foul beasts.

It is time they taste his steel. With a flick, Noburo quickly rolls up the prayer scroll and stores it away. Locking onto the nearest bakemono, he charges toward it menacingly.
stance: defensive (is this where def+agi roll is added to my armor?), simple: put away scroll, standard: move forward until within 10' of #4

New Initiative: Ijiko 59!, Noburo 37!, Hidekazu 21, Bakemono 4-6: 19, Rokku 19, Bakemono 3: 10
The Shugenja puts his scroll away and draws his blade, with a watchful eye for an attack from the bakemono he shifts his weight into a defensive stance, and holds his wakizashi out before him to deflect any incoming attacks. He begins to close in on the fight moving up slowly and carefully.
Noburo: Stance: Full Defense (Agility/Defense) 5k4 18 4 3 6 = +31 to TNtbH (41 Total), Move Half Movement 10ft South)

Full Defense, you can move 1/2 your normal move. (Move = Water Ring x10) So Noburo can move 10 feet closer. Also the TNtbH bonus last until your next action, and is good for 1 enemy (1 enemy per inside rank)

Hidekazu watches as his fists strike the creature but does not drop it into death. The ise zumi immediately wheels about, spinning his body on the ball of his foot. When the spin comes to its final apex his right leg thrusts forward, attempting to kick the bakemono straight in the chest.
Stance: Attack
Standard: Melee attack vs. #4
Free Raises: Raise 1 to Hit vs. #4, Raise 2 for Dmg for 1k1.

Combat Round 3

Post by Vardaen » Wed Sep 21, 2005 10:56 pm

New Initiative: Ijiko 59!, Noburo 37!, Hidekazu 21, Bakemono 4-6: 19, Rokku 19, Bakemono 3: 10
Hidekazu spins around, wheeling his leg in a classic roundhouse. The heel of his sandal connects with the side of the goblin's skull caving in the bone there, crushing its head and brain inside. The howling goblin flies several feet landing in a heap of Shadowlands blood and twisted flesh dead. As soon as the goblin hits the ground the ticket of bamboo on the monk's chest fades and returns to a normal green and white tattoo, the power of Togashi's blood has faded.
Hidekazu: Stance Attack. (Free Raises: 1 for Att, 2 for Dmg) Att #4 8k3, 6 9 6 = 21 Hit for 5k3, 9 22! 4 = 35 DEAD, Bamboo Tattoo Fades
One of the bakemono screams, cursing and shouting insults at the monk as it lays there, burned by Noburo's spell, unable to force its legs to work. The crippled goblin is no more a threat it would seem, however the other lead goblin is. With Hidekazu's back turned to it it leaps on the Ise Zumi. The claws of the flithy creature sink into the unprotected back of Hidekazu. They rip down his spin opening up huge wounds along his back. Black nails break off in his muscle, and the man hasn't ever felt such pain in his life, its nearly crippling, slowing his reaction and movement as well as causing terrible bleeding.
Bakemono
#5 Crippled Unable to Move (Water Ring at "0")
#6 Full Att Hidekazu: (3 Raises All Attack) 13 - 5 Wounds, 8, TNtbH 18-15 =3 Hit for 18 Wounds, Injured +15 TNs, -1 Water Ring for the Purposes of Movement (Move reduced to 10ft). Hidekazu spends Void to reduce Wound by 10 Points, so 8 Damage, +3 TN, no Move Penalty, 1 Void Spent Total (Chatted with Tet about this)
Void Points: One option of spending void is to reduce a wound you take by 10 points. This is a reactionary spending, and so in a PbP game it makes it hard to do. I will always spend a void point (assuming you have any left) for a character if they suffer a wound that might reduce them to DOWN, OUT or DEAD status.

Otherwise, if a character would like to spend the void on a damging roll, they should pose after I post about being wounded. I will try treat the post as a shurging off of the damage, or other ignoring the pain all together. Or I will attempt to alert a player to anotherwise critcal blow via the MUSH Chat or a PM if I think its serious. I do not wish for this factor of the game however to slow down an already slow combat.

With a heart full of cold hate, Rokku waits patiently for the moment the bakenmono exposes itself fully. And when the moment comes, Rokku's sword is a swift flash of shining steel, the strike measured to finish the wretched creature.

(Attack #3, 3 free raises for tn, 1 for damage.)

Round 2: Initiative: Ijiko 59!, Noburo 37!, Hidekazu 21, Bakemono 5,6: 19, Rokku 19, Bakemono 3: 10
The Lion's blade is a flash of steel, the fading light of the day glows a crimson on his blade forshadowing the attack to come. With a *shincht* the blade slices through the crude armored collar of the bakemono. The detached head of the creature flies through the air landing with a splash in the ricepaddy water behind it. The last goblin that threatens Rokku directly has fallen, and only two now remain at all. One crippled by the call to the kami by Noburo (#5), the other having just struck Hidekazu (#6).

Ijiko moves swifly and gracefully towards the crippled bakemono with hatred in her eyes, but looking closely one sees a vague hint of remorse protruding from her countenence. She raises her blade above her head, and speaking a small prayer to the gods that they care for this wretched soul, drives it two handed through the scorched head and skull of the downed bakemono in an effort to put it out of it's misery.
attack stance, attacking the downed bakemono with the katana after moving so as to be adjacent to it. if still a turn after tides of battle on the damaged enemies

Round 3 New Initiative: Ijiko 68!!, Noburo 44!, Rokku 27, Bakemono #6 21, Bakemono #5 19, Hidekazu 18
The Scorpion-ko takes three graceful steps toward the downed Bakemono. She spins her weapon around in her hand gripping the katana in both hands. In a strike taught to all scorpion samurai she takes full advantage of her crippled foe. The coup de grace attack is pin point accurate driving through one ear of the goblin in out the other. With twist of her wrist she severs the greymatter inside the skull and removes the blade in a flash. The quivering goblin hardly realized what has happened to it, or where it is, but Jigoku welcomes the bakemono home.
Ijiko: Stance: Attack (Can't make 3 raises for head shot, not high enough void, will make 2 for Dmg +10TN) Att #5 5k3 11 11 23 =45! (Three Exploding Dice on one roll, Void Point Regained) Hit for 6k3, 12 8 12 = 32 Dmg, DEAD

Nice hit!

Noburo continues to move toward the remaining bakemono. Getting closer he pulls out his wakizashi and swings it into an attack position above his head.

Noburo taunts the bakemono, "Come get me foul beast, its your last chance to avenge the destruction I've wrought against you and your kinds!"
stance: defensive, simple: equip wakizashi, standard: move 10' diag toward bakemono #6
