Noburo closes in on the bakemono around Hidekazu further, the Shugenja is no bushi, and he knows that to charge into battle blindly might simply cause more hard than good, and so with a careful and slow approach he slips around behind the Togashi, his wakizashi in hand, he still remains out of reach as he taunts the goblin.

Though his wounds are grievous, Rokku has the heart of a Lion -- and that heart cannot falter. The crippled Akodo stalkes methodically towards the last remaining bakemono, prepared to end the creature if his allies do not.

(OOC: Not much I can do I'm afraid, other than hobble towards the little blighter.)

New Initiative: Ijiko 68!!, Noburo 44!, Rokku 27, Bakemono #6 21, Hidekazu 18
Rokku turns and starts to stalk toward the last Bakemono, his hobbled body bleeds, but his heart is filled with a fire of the lion, and he continues moving forward. His movement is slow and gaiting, but he closes some distance on the goblin.
Move reduced from wounds, 10ft move
The last living bakemono, if you don't count the one that is nearly dead, laying knocked out and bleeding on the road back near the peasant woman, screams in terror. The goblins of the Shadowlands are not tactical creatures, but they do enjoy their perveted lives. The last goblin screams and cackles as it realizes that the others are all dead. It turns around and breaks into a run down the path that runs between the rice paddies. It is quickly thirty feet down the path before the Dragon Ize Zume reacts...

Claw and bite marks riddle Hidekazu's body. He has lost much of his speed, but none of his meddle. However, the monk does not find the need to give chase to the fleeing Bakemono. Instead he slowly walks forward toward the murdered woman, peering down at her dead body, closing his eyes, and silently wishing the woman's spirit a safe journey into the afterlife.

Hidekazu does not give chase to the last Bakemono, and as a result the creature escapes into the gathering gloom of dusk. The goblin flees from the group of samurai and the battle has ended. The Togashi moves to look at the heimin woman, her throat sliced, and her chest stabbed several times with a tanto, the blade remains stuck in her belly still. The bakemono did their terrible job well, the woman is beyond mortal help. The monk's prayer speeds her spirit along to the blessed realms.

When the last bakemono dies, Rokku finally allows himself a moment of weakness. Sheathing his sword, he slumps heavily to his knees, exhausted and bloody. Letting his eyes fall closed, he draws long, deep breaths, trying to will away the pain.

Noburo stares after the bakemono as it disappears from view, clearly disappointed the creature had gotten away. He sheathes his weapon and walks toward the kneeling Lion bushi.

"Rokku-san, let me help you with your wounds", Noburo says as he approaches and pulls out a scroll. He looks at the marshes nearby and begins a prayer to the water kami to come and heal the wounds of the Lion bushi.

Noburo sheaths his weapons as the last bakemono escapes into the rice paddies watching it run. The former Phoenix moves up to Rokku, who's wounds are great. Peitioning the water kami of the fields, the shugenja asks for their aid in healing Rokku and they grant it. The smell of cooking rice fills the air around the two as Rokku's wounds are infused with the endurance and strength of water. There is a regenerative poperty to the infusion of water, and soon Rokku feels better. Still wounded very greatly, and crippled when it comes to actual movement, Rokku is however no longer on death's door. He lays silent, nearly asleep, exhausted from the pain.

Ijiko watches as the bakemono flees, then as Rokku is healed slightly. She looks to her companions, with an odd, almost confused expression, saying in her visage,"what now?"

Hidekazu takes several steps forward, moving ever so slightly in the direction of the slain woman. The monk peers down at her lifeless body, a frown upon his face as he does so. "We should be weary," he says, "There could be more of this foul creatures about." Turning, he walks back toward the others, folding his arms across his chest as he does so.
