Season 1: Episode 1 - Meetings and Mission

Some say it's cultists. Some say it's mass hysteria. Some say it's Magic. Most say it's nothing.

Whatever it is, the city has too much of it, and it's your job to investigate it.

Detective Keith Williams seems to be the goto guy on this, just his luck, and so as more members of the team arrive he can figure out who has signed up and who hasn't for the job. "Alrighty boys and girls, lets take a look at this. We have another body, more carvings, no blood, and nailed to this Church of the Master place. Professor Hajos, please take a look at the markings if you will. Roberts, good to see you made it, you take the Greenhorn Frank here and examine the scene, there must be something left behind. The rest of you know your talents and merits, put them to use, and lets do it fast cause Frank is right. This is going to hit the press hard, that weasel Blaine from The Sun or Star or whatever tabloid that is is going to have a field day." Keith will get with the coroner and the first man on the scene to find out what the time of death was, and when the body was found.

Cliff finishes his first scribblings as his eyes wander over the crimescene again.
Investigation/perception? Or lemme know what I see -- unless it is just the same as already mentioned.
About a minute after he is cleared as okay to enter the crime scene, he actually takes the Detective up on his offer, approaching the nearest police officer before ducking under the tape.

He moves carefully within the tape, being sure to check the ground in front of him as he approaches the front steps of the church. Knowing that several other people are going to be examining the body already, he turns his inspection to the immediate surroundings of the body, trying to find any clues as to how the body got to its current location.

Sunday service

The Curtains finally arrive and block the view of the crime scene from the gathered crowd. The tarp is removed and you are all (Except Robert and Cliff) 'treated' to your first view of a real live exsanguinated murder victim in apparent satanic display on the front door of a church.

The girl is young, early 20's, and the marks are familiar to all of you. The brands are in place'¦ in the exact places as they were on the other body, as far as you are all able to tell. The cuts are again sloppy, placed in obviously different locations, and there are less of them this time. There is almost no blood at the scene, only a tiny trickle from where the nails (large, but available at any hardware store) pierced her. The abrasions at her wrists and ankles are obvious to all, the ones on her ankles noticeably deeper than the ones on her wrists. Her head has dropped down and gives a terrible view of the inner working of the human neck.

The rest of the scene has already been swept by CSI, who seem to hold out less faith in you all than does Mr. Cross. Two police in blue uniforms await the completion of your investigations and the final pictures of the crime-scene photographer. The crowbars that each carry leave no question why they are still here. Somebody's going to have to pull her down, and they drew the short straw.

Keith has seen alot in his day, but it gets him every time. He hangs his head low and looks down at the ground beneath the woman before looking back up at the neck. The man comments about the ligature marks on her wrists and ankles, "She was bound tightly, prevented from running before the bastard carved his marks in her. He starts to look at the marks now, and the branding realizing that in the photos of the other body he never looked at them in their natural state, perhaps it has something to do with her being upside down. Then his eyes dift to the neck and the slahes there.

Kieth looks over at the old man Hajo, "Proffessor, you said those marks looked familiar in the briefing room. Do they still? If so you better start talking, and fast."

Cliff makes his way behind the curtains once they are brought, apparently having found nothing in his other inspections.

While the detective begins talking to the professor, he starts to take a closer look at the marking (without touching anything). Specifically he's looking to see if they are exactly the same as the ones that were marked on the first body. He compares the current markings to the scribbled sketches he has in his notebook from the first set of pictures.

A few moments later he begins to sketch the current images into his notebook.

"Hrm well Williams..." Hajos places his indexfinger upon his thick glasses and pushes them up close to his eyes, as if the weight of them makes them constantly fall down to the tip of the nose. The hungarian man draws out a notebook and begins to suck upon a ball point pen as he looks between his notes and the body.

"Well mr Williams, " comes from Hajos as he for a second time corrects his glasses, "The cuts and brands are the same as from the previous victim...well in general. I still have not had enough time to investigate the purpose of the symbols, but as of now, I can say that they are the same. If I can reciece pictures of the body from the ME later on I shall be more precise...but it is quite clear that the same persons are behind it....now, if you please excuse me..."

Hajos turns quickly, and ends up in a sprint. He dives under the tape separating the crowd from the scene, and then pushes himself through the crowd and around the corner. At the last sight of the man, he was clearly quite pale in his face, and struggling to keep something down.

Williams watches as the man runs off, "Of course they are the same...what good is this old man anyhow if he needs to research the symbols?" He comments to anyone around. "Sgt!" He calls to a uniformed cop nearby, "I want a copy of the crime photos in my mail box by this afternoon, including good photos of all the markings on the vic." He will then remain the rest of the time at the scene to see if anything else comes up, before returning to the office to get pictures for Hajos. His goal will then be to rejoin the group for lunch at the local TGI Friday's as planned.

So... the studio has decided that we've already spent too much money. They're not going to even let us finish filming the pilot.

Game off.
