VtM - PC Goals and Expectations
I'm going to attempt to run this game a little differently than other games I've run in the past. Instead of presenting challenges for the characters, I'm going to give them a fair amount of autonomy. Events will happen throughout the differing stories, but whether or not the group involves themselves in these events will more or less be up to them. This will not be the case all the time, and certain clans will have more direct influences over certain characters. We'll play it by ear and see where it leads.
However, with this level of autonomy comes an added need for character background and motivations. At least some of the time you all will have the opportunity to pursue your own goals, which in turn leads to having goals to begin with. To put it another way, by the time this game winds down and ends, what do each of you envision your characters accomplishing?
Also, on a broader note, this would be the place to let me know exactly what kind of game you all want to play. I've already made mention that I'd like the game to be more social rather than more combat oriented. Of course, what I want seems pretty meaningless if the players are envisioning lots of gunfights, pre-dawn duels on corporate rooftops, or just random street beatings. If you all and I are at odds here, I'd like to know before sinking a great deal of time into a project that will ultimately fail. It is possible to have a game that incorporates intrigue and violence, along with the vampiric staples of the seduction of the innocent and general themes of horror. What I want to know is how much of each are you all looking for. This is supposed to be fun for everyone involved, and as much as I don't want this game to devolve to the level of most d20 games (if I did, I would have run D&D), I also don't want to force anyone to play Vampire as some sort of Shakespearian tragedy (not that I think I have that level of storytelling at my disposal) if their looking for a rendition of the Blade trilogy.
So let me know what you want out of this game, either by posting it here (preferable, as it gives the other players an idea of where you're coming from) or by PMing me. Thanks.

Well I would like an brawl or a gunfight from time to time , but definately not all the time, and wont like a game where there is no violence of any kind.
My char would be something like the guy from FX the series, mental primary with focus on tech skills, maybe security, with the killed mentor background, and his goal would be revenge by any means (he would enjoy it no matter if he kills the murderer or he makes his unlife more misserable than possible). When not seeking the murderer he would gather secrets all around him in order to use them in any way he sees fit.
High on resources or/and heaven (to represent a big laboratory/workshop). And maybe if it is possible he would work for some big boss, reparing equipment. This could work (with some minor adjustment) with most of the sects, clans and bloodlines.
the char sheet coming in the end of the week

I agree with Twilight on one point, a game with no combat is not for me. I love the combat stuff, and with all the various Disciplines and Vampire powers at ones disposal, to not use them would be a shame. I mean really would Star Wars be any good without the Lightsabre Fights, or would Conan be any good if he just talks the giant snake out of a fight?
The answer is no, in case you weren't sure.
I always enjoy the role play, the social aspect, but if we aren't going to use the combat system, then do I really need to fill out a character sheet?

Methinks I may have overstated my case.
I wasn't suggesting that the game would be combat-free, and I apologize if I came off that way. I'm just trying to avoid a game where a boot to the head becomes "Plan A" for every situation that the group encounters.
Some encounters will become violent, even before negotiations fall through. Remember, the premise of the Chronicle come almost directly after a large-scale invasion by a rival sect that left a significant portion of the city's undead population destroyed.
And that could have only been the first wave.
I totally plan on using violence throughout the Chronicle. But I will only use it when it is dramatically appropriate, not for its own sake.

That, of course, would depend on your definition of gratuitous. Depending on the circumstances the coterie finds itself in nudity becomes a definite possibility. It's a dirty world out here.
But if possible, I'd rather it not go to the extremes set by one Johnny "the Dragon" Ramirez. Go ahead and PM me if you want the details. I swear they're pathetically funny. 18 and over, please.
