Who am I?

This is a varient of 20 questions, in which you have to try and guess who I am thinking of. The person has to be a fFAMOUS person, and can be from any period of time. I'll start and the person who guesses it correctly will pick a person next.
Here is your clue- This person is not an actor, but has done many movies.
So- ask questions, and you'll get answers.
First person to guess, is the next to pick and person and give a hint.

(Also you didn't stated if they have to be yes/no questions but I assume they do)

Yeah, okay, I know like no special effects or make up people other than one make up company that a friend of my wife works for.
I'd almost guess Gollum, but he ain't human...
