We have a winner!

I decided to pick a Tale of the Arabian Nights because of the Zakhara game. I picked Aladdin because it had a good person/item pair (unlike, say, Ali Baba).

I really wasn't thinking about the Disney film. In retrospect, that made it too easy. Ah well, live and learn.

The tv series is what gave it away. Pretty much only disney converts fables into saturday morning fodder.
