The Eastlands: The Year of the Serpent

The strange and deadly Eastlands are where wild elves rule. The fey have gone into hiding, or so it is said, and now only the mortal roam the Eastlands. Good and evil are of no concern. Only survival is important where death can come at any time and from any place.

Round #1, Post #1

Post by TetNak » Thu Aug 11, 2005 8:23 pm

Initiative: Xisskar 18, Elven Scouts 10, Ssari'th 4
The Pureblood is quicker to act, immediately raising his bow and firing at one of the elves in the trees. The arrow connects with the elf, causing him to slip and plummet from the tree onto the ground. The elf yells in pain as he hits the ground. The ambusher looses any opportunity he had to attack.
Concealment: 58%, Not Averted. Att 24, Success. Dmg 3

Balance 11, Failure. 6 Dmg Falling. Loses next turn
The elf next to the one that fell targets Xisskar who moves behind some cover. He sends two arrows in the Yuan-ti's direction, however each of the arrows are deflected by nearby tree branches. Xisskar survives unscathed.
ES2: Concealment: 19%, Averted. Concealment: 9%, Averted!
Ssari'th is not so lucky, as both the elves that have spotted him fire upon him. Two of the four arrows connect, one into his left arm, and the second into the front of his coiled tail. The Halfblood continues to feel weaker with each passing moment.
ES3: Att 11, Failure. Att 25, Success. Dmg 3. Ssari'th at 7 HP (Earlier Was Wrong)
ES4: Att 15, Failure. Att 21, Success. Dmg 1. Ssari'th at 6 HP

Ssari'th is suddenly finding himself terrible weak. His bulk making an easy target for the elves. He hisses out in pain several time and then his scales shimmer and slide over one another as he attempts to change his scale colors to match the snowy green of the trees as he slips behind several trees for cover.

The Halfblood Ssari'th, who is getting pelted with arrows, decides to move further into the forest and hide. Ssari'th blends perfectly into the trees and environment around him. The elves try to find out where he has gone, but quickly lose sight of the half-snake, half-man.

Xisskar is dissapointed.

Post by sidewinder102 » Thu Aug 11, 2005 11:27 pm

Xisskar knocks another arrow and lets it fly as his fellow Yuan-Ti runs for cover. "It seems I might have been able to shoulder this alone, halfblood baggage" Staying behind cover, Xisskar will attempt to outdo the elves at range.
Keep knocking them out of the tree's, that seems effective.

Initiative: Xisskar 18, Elven Scouts 10, Ssari'th 4
Xisskar seems to have a keen aim. He quickly levels his longbow at the next elf in the tree, firing immediately. The arrow zips through the air, passes several branches, and hits the elf in the chest with a thud. This elf falls backward out of the tree, landing solidly upon his back twenty feet below.
Concealment: 95%, Not Averted. Att 27, Success. Dmg 8.

Balance: 7 - 8 = -1, Failure.

Changed this so damage is a modifier

Round #2, Post #2

Post by TetNak » Fri Aug 12, 2005 5:15 am

Initiative: Xisskar 18, Elven Scouts 10, Ssari'th 4
Picking himself off the ground the elven scout who had /first/ fallen from the tree quickly pulls his bow from the ground. He cannot see the second Yuan-ti. Completely loosing the Halfblood like the rest of his kin. In a quick motion he sends two arrows toward the Pureblood, but each clip branches before they get to Xisskar, and in turn save him from any injury.
ES1: Concealment: 1%, Averted. Concealment: 19%, Averted
None of the elves can find the Halfblood, and therefore they concentrate their fire upon the Pureblood who does not have the luxury of fading away like his counterpart. This elf does a slightly better job of aiming, but still each of his arrows miss their targets, on landing in the ground just before the Pureblood, the second passing overhead and lodging itself into a tree.
ES3: Concealment: 39%, Not Averted. Att 17, Failure. Concealment 59%, Not Averted. Att 14, Failure
The last archer lets two arrows fly. One of the arrows connects, sticking into the Pureblood's leg. The arrow, however, seems to have been deflected as it was in the air. The arrow falls to the ground with the slightest movement, barely cutting into the flesh below the skin.
ES4: Concealment: 76%, Not Averted: Att 19, Success. Dmg 3. Concealment: 99%, Not Averted. Att 13, Failure.

Xisskar kicks ass.

Post by sidewinder102 » Fri Aug 12, 2005 12:43 pm

Xisskar moves through the same motion, one arrow at a time flying true with each shot. Grab, knock, level and pull, fire. Sending another arrow swiftly through the air toward his next victim. He looks forward to killing these elves alone, this could prove to be a great personal victory for him.
If there are any still in the tree's take em down.. If not then shoot the one who seems weakest or closest.. Also, could you bring up a map soon?

The Halfblood has vanished, and he moves slithering around the flank of the battle pausing only 20 feet from his previous position. Stoping he glances down the field at the elves that have fallen from the trees, and those that are still in the trees. He begins to hiss in a low sibilant tongue filled with lispy words and odd clicks as he is finishing his chant the trees and plants of the forest begin to twist bend around the elves. The tree branches like hands reach for the elves, while the vines and udergrowth wrap and attempt to hold and entangle the elves.

Round #2, Post #3

Post by TetNak » Fri Aug 12, 2005 4:06 pm

Initiative: Xisskar 18, Elven Scouts 10, Ssari'th 4
The Halfblood is well hidden, and there is no way for the elves to spot him now, not without a long and drawn out search. Ssari'th uses this to his advantage, calling on the Slithering Serpent to aid the Yuan-ti in their plight against the elves. If the Spirit hears or not, it is debated, for the tree branches start to close in around the elves in the tree, but they never grab hold. Perhaps Ssari'th has displeased the Great Serpent ..
Entangle: Reflex, ES3 22, Success. ES4 22, Success. Movement halved

Round #3, Post #1

Initiative: Xisskar 18, Elven Scouts 10, Ssari'th 4
Xisskar once again fires as he moves closer. The arrow zip into the next tree, catching the elf in the upper chest. He too plummets from the branches he had nested within, falling to the ground with a thud.
Att 27, Success. Dmg 8 + 2 = 10.

Balance: 16 '€" 8 = 8, Failure.

4 dmg falling
'œI shall keep it at bay, the snake's bow is dangerous, rush it!' These are the words of one of the elves, the first that fell from the tree. The elf then proceeds to fire two more arrows, these arrows are well placed, unlike many of the others. Both arrows plunk the Pureblood's trunk, one sticking into Xisskar's chest and the other his left shoulder. Xisskar is finally feeling the brunt of his many wounds.
Concealment: 95%, Not Averted. Concealment: 55%, Not Averted. Att 27, Success. Dmg 4. Att 28, Success. Dmg 6. Xisskar at 32 HP
Recently fallen, the elf stands up, his leg twisted from his fall. 'œA wise plan,' the pathetic elf says. He drops his sword and moves forward, limping slightly, but Xisskar proves not far enough away to avoid the elf's reach. The scout stabs his straight sword directly into Xisskar's side, causing blood and flesh to be torn asunder! The Pureblood is now reeling!
Att 19, Success. Dmg 10! Xisskar at 22 HP
The last remaining elf in the tree watches as the branches start to overtake him. Instead of chancing being ensnared the elf jumps from the tree, falling outward from the branches and the tree, and in fact landing relatively softly upon the ground as he rolls to his feet.
Jump: 18, Success. 4 dmg non-lethal
