The two elvish scouts look at each other, injured and completely unsure about the yuan-ti presence in the area. One says to the other, "Let us retreat for now. We shall live to report this."
Without hesitation they turn and move into the trees, away from the yuan-ti and the battlefield. They even leave their commrades to rot, as war has changed their typical elven outlook on life, and now they must look to their own.
Upon the ground Xisskar, the Pureblood, and Fa'eran, the Wild Elf slave, take labored breaths, both dying in a pool of their own blood.

Ssari'th waits to make sure the elves have left before showing himself. He slithers out of the foliage down the tree and over to the Pureblood. He lowers his upper half to rumage through Xisskar's belongings looking for a potion or other healing agent. If he should find one he applies it to the Pureblood. For now he doesn't give a damn about the elf slave or the other dead or dying elves.

The yuan-ti Halfblood finds a potion, one that he recognizes that heals the wounds of his comrades. However, as Ssari'th goes to apply the healing potion Xisskar hisses for the last time. Black blood covers Ssari'th hands, and much of the Purebloods chest and the ground below. Xisskar has died.

"Worthlesssss..." Ssari'th searches Xisskar for anything of value, potions, weapons, anything that is of worth to the Yuan-ti struggle against the elves. He loads himself up with all of it, and then slithers off to the slave elf body, if the elf still draws breath he ends the life, cuts his head from his shoulders and takes the slave collar for use later. A slither to the slain enemy elves the Half Blood inspects them for signs of affiliation, and searches them also for usefull gear. When finished, he considers his options, and turns from his task and head back home to report his failure and suffer his punishment.

The Return; The End
The Pureblood begins the trek back to the yuan-ti homeland, or what has become their homeland. In the air snow begins to fall, causing the creature to shiver under the harsh winds and wet weather. Each thought is too his failure, and the failure of his race, and what could be assumed the abandonment of the Slithering Serpent.
So involved in his own thoughts the Pureblood does not even hear the 'twang' of a bowstring. But he certainly feels the pain shoot through his body as an arrow sticks into his back. He tries to scream out, but another arrow lodges itself in his throat and no sound comes when it should. The world becomes blurry, the trees spin around the yuan-ti, and finally all goes black.
