Prelude: Untergard

The Old World. A dark and grim place filled with peril and driven by war. From the teeming cities of the Empire to the Elf haunted forests to the lofty crags of the Worlds' Edge mountains where Dwarfs battle with Goblins and their vile kin, a shadow hangs over the world, cast by the dark corrupting hand of Chaos. The Old World's greatest nation, the Empire, seeks to hold back this dark tide.

Kithron stays a bit back, bow ready in case anything bad happens.

The old woman is not lying in a pool of her own blood. She looks up, disappointment washed across her face. "They killed my father. Here." She gasps for air, "I wished only for revenge." He gnashes her teeth, "You fools ..."

Finally, her eyes roll back in her head, staring up wildly. She stops moving and stops breathing. Dvar and Kithron have killed Granny!

Kithron is not feeling sad. He has witnessed too many deaths. "Throw her on the fire, I say."

Ragnar has almost got the fire out, but stops and looks at the other dwarves for a decision.

Dvar sighs, "She was seeking revenge for her father's death. Against who? Against us? Against someone else?" The dwarf also is war weary and another death is another death, its too bad it was the town healer. "If this is where her paw died, then lets finish her here as well." He motions for those putting the fire out to get it really burning hot. "Light it up, Granny burns here." He then searcher her body for anything of value, or anything to remember the old woman by, and then helps get the fire going and tosses her on the fire with the others.

Urgrim watches with sad eyes as Granny passes. "The Sternhauers or something like that... whatever they are."

He helps to stoke the fire and then lay Granny on top of it.

Granny is thrown on the funeral pyre. She is burnt before the wolf carcasses are also thrown onto the fire. The fire burns hot, and long, crackling some times that sound like the voice of the old woman spitting out in contempt. The dwarves and elf head back to the caravan and explain what happened. The captain is not pleased, wishing they could have taken her alive, the orphans are down right angry and wailing in sorrow. The dwarves and elf are no certainly outsiders. The rest of the trip to Middenheim is uneventful however, and now that they have reached their destination the dwarves and elf detach from the caravan and Captain Schiller. He thanks the dwarves and elf but seems to be pleased to be rid of them. What adventure awaits them is left to the annuals of history in the Old World ...
Thanks for playing guys!
