Prelude: Untergard

The Old World. A dark and grim place filled with peril and driven by war. From the teeming cities of the Empire to the Elf haunted forests to the lofty crags of the Worlds' Edge mountains where Dwarfs battle with Goblins and their vile kin, a shadow hangs over the world, cast by the dark corrupting hand of Chaos. The Old World's greatest nation, the Empire, seeks to hold back this dark tide.

The dwarves and elf turn around, but they all notice Granny is not where they left her.

The Captain walks forward, grunting, "I just say Granny head into the woods again! What is going on!?!" He frowns and shakes his head, "I have had about enough of this!" He looks down into the pit and frowns, "To Sigmar," he says, sighing, "We will deal with the pits, a burying the Father." He waves a hand at the dwarves and Kithron, "Can you see what Granny is up to this time?"

Dvar narrows his eyes, "I donna like this. Granny's been acting strange, talkin ta Elves, running off. Lets git ta the bottom ov this." He slings his axe over his shoulder and stomps off (careful to avoid the pits) to give chase to Granny.

Urgrim nods to Dvar's statement. "Granny has been acting a bit odd lately." He takes up his Halberd and sets off in the direction motioned to them by the Captain.

Ragnar looks up from helping set the caravan ready to resume travel and grunts.

"Aye, lets go see whut Granny be up'to," the dwarf grunts, moving to the others, ready to follow the woods-wise dwarf and elf.

The dwarves and elf head into the woods to track Granny. Kithron and Dvar take the lead. They eventually find a trail, though it does take them awhile. When found, the trail is followed, and it appears Granny, or whatever is making the trail, is making good time ahead of them.

Two hours later the sun has set, and darkness has taken over. Finally, the burning of a fire can bee seen in an opening within the woods.

The bonfire is circled with the images of wolves in the darkness, moving about on the periphery of the light. Chanting echoes through the air as the flames dance. A larger, shadowy shape throws things into the fire, causing it to change from red, to blue, to green. Magic is in the air ...

Dvar pauses at the edge of the light and the clearing, keeping certain he's far enough away to not be seen. He hushes the other dwarves and puts an arrow to his bow, he watches the figure tossing powder into the fire making it flare various colors. He narrows his eyes and scans all around the clearing for signs of other people. He whispers "I donna like this."

Ragnar stops at Dvar's gesture, silently drawing his ax and peers into the darkness for foes attempting to ambush them.

"'Tis foul magic in'ta air, me friends," he whispers the obvious, shaking his head in dismay.

Kithron also notches an arrow. "Evil is at work here, I feel it."
